well, its good to know that effective resources for officer training exist. now if we could just get the lapd to spend 7 minutes to train their officers.

It would be good if the LAPD showed this to all their officers. However it does nothing to address the need for law enforcement to more proactively cite drivers for endangering cyclists.
Is their any way to arganize a ride with the LAPD bicycle squad or their bike race team?
That would be a good chance to start a non confrontational discussion about commuter cyclist safety.

matt, you can go ahead and call your local precinct and ask for the cycling unit. ask for the supervisor's name and the best time to reach him. just say you're working with "Citizen Cyclists for a Safer Los Angeles" (not the name of a group it just sounds like it.) and the DOT and that you'd like to reach out to the cycling unit.
