$3.09 on Venice Blvd the other day. I was riding by the gas station and let out a loud "Holy Shit!" as people where filling up. Ride on! Drive a little as possible!

Like I tell every other motorist, unless you mount an armed resistance and burn the house down like Nathan Holn, your bitching will befall deaf ears!!!!!

Good. More people on bikes. I know that's what got me riding in the first place.

When I am budgeting my paycheck, I also budget about $30/wk for gas...which I never spend...so it's a $30 treat for me : }

im jealous of everyone who works close enough/late enough to ride/ take public trans to work.

i fuckin work 40 miles away from home and i have to be there at 7 am sharp.

fuckin blows.

all riders who laugh at others bc they have to drive don't have a fucking clue how far/early some people have to go for work.

I essentially make it a habit to be employed no more than 10 miles from where I lay my head.
The only way I'm going to go back to "commuting to work" is if it involves a Freightliner, Qualcomm, and a 53' foot trailer if you catch my drift.

well u can either be unemployed and wait for something to come around 10 minutes away

or

u can be employed and deal with driving

That sucks. I feel for you. Viewpoint was like, a 45 min drive from my house when I was a kid. I know that's not as bad, but for a teenager it sucked.

Someone once told me you should always try to live close to work. I hope I can manage to do that.

thats the main problem with our trans issues,

most people work far as hell away from home.

for awhile i road by bike to work, hauling slacks, dress shirt, loafers, and a laptop. do that with a 3 hour commute.

it fuckin blew.

sadly, its just so much easier to toss my shit into a car and sit in trffic for an hour.

Well, I've got enough experience in my other job-line that I was able to find some local work withing 2 months of the other guys giving me no recourse.

As far as driving right now, the last time I owned a vehicle was back in '05, and I just happened to be working within five miles of where I live.

Speaking of miles, why is that everyone still give a "time" instead of a measure of distance when it comes to getting some place?
No venom towards you KiMS, but I've always used miles, feet, blocks or other forms of distance when it comes to telling someone how far a destination is.

Time is kind of useless factor when you put in traffic, detours, etc.

So, 10 minutes is roughly equal to 1-2miles on bike, 10-15miles by car/depending on how fast you drive, etc.,
