Wanna be a part of the All City race but you don't have a team?
Then join TEAM CAMERA!
TEAM CAMERA'S job is not to win the race but to CAPTURE THE RACE'S SPIRIT AND CULTURE THROUGH YOUR LENS!
Bring any kind of camera you have: mini dv, hd, slr... anything that you can use to capture content.
We need people at the start of the race, the end of the race, and FOR THE ADVENTUROUS: we need people to follow racers to get maximum action!
We will be providing Roadblock with the video we shoot, but you'll get your tapes and SD cards back don't worry!

Starting to get a BUNCH of emails! Awesome!
A lot of still photographers are offering their services which is rad!
Any video peeps out there willing to actually do the race (at their own pace, of course) and get "Follow Cam" style of the race? This will be the "Money Shot" if ya know what I mean!

I have the 60 minute FLIP VIDEO ULTRA SERIES and it's really good. you can get it for $122 out the door on amazon right now. I picked the free shipping and it arrived in 2 days...must have shipped from california. anyhow, it's easy to use. records 60 minutes....usb connection to computer, excellent video editing...you can add your own music as a background, the software included uploads your videos straight to your youtube account for you....i recommend it.
they have a new MINO SERIES that has an internal lithium battery that recharges when hooked up to usb. the ultra series i have runs on AA batteries.

I'm happy to help out. But my camera is sort of a piece of shite. If anyone can lend me a bike mount and a video cam or still cam with time lapse function, I could do the following thing.

is there anyone out there who would be down to focus a video camera on the finish line to capture all the finishers. basically just put a tri-pod and set and forget it. last year there was so much chaos we couldnt tell anything past 3rd place....... free shirts and shit for anyone who is down.

I have both, but just in case I can't get to the finish before the racers do, I don't wanna chance it. We've got really good coverage, I just need some one to 100% confirm that they can shoot the finish line.

So I was going to work up a graphic for "Brigada Kino" in a Russian Constructivist style and it was going to be super badass. But my laziness took over and I did nothing of the sort. Oh, well.

That was fun! Kinda wish I hadn't ducked into a parking lot after we ran the red right in front of the cop in Culver City. I guess I was rolling with the 2nd and 3rd place teams at that point. Would've been nice to try to finish with them. Oh, well....

I will be at the finish line with my DSLR.
We need a video camera or 3 if we can get them for the finish line (if that isnt already arranged). One for the finish line, one for the approach, and one for the celebration.
I don't have video camera or I would be all over it.
ALSO
I have said it over and over and over, but I have 3 FRS (walkie-talkie) radios for use of this race. Nobody has responded to my post (or in person talks) about this, or about my willingness to show up at 9 am to get a fire pit or 2 at the beach. Little bit of communication might be in order.....
I am willing to put in work for this event, so let me know what else I can do.

If Roadblock hasn't gotten to you yet, I'll let you know that it would be SUPER RAD if you went and secured the PIT and beach space for the race! Get there early and bring a book or sumthin! Walkie talkies are moot, (haha, never used that word except for singing Jesse's Girl at karaoke!) very little banter is needed, just a text message or quick call to let everyone know the race has started, then you got about 40-50 minutes until folks start showing up at then end.
