I'll make this brief, because you don't want to hear my life story, but...
My mom died this past summer. We were really close, it was really unpleasant, and I was heartbroken and fucked up (still am, but never mind). I totally lost interest in doing wild and crazy shit like Ridazz (I was doing it every month before that) and thought I would probably never do it again.
Then this All City Toy Ride popped up--a chance to have nutty fun and drink and ride but for a good cause. Temptation having presented itself so irresistably, I went and got me a big old toy and a Santa hat and went ahead and rode. And it was fun, and judging by the ginormous deluge of toys flowing over that table, some kids are going to have a kick ass Christkwanzakah even if I don't.
Hey, if I hadn't gone, I would never have gotten the chance to see that guy getting his ass whipped on the dance floor, right?
So, to summarize, thanks to whoever thought this thing up, because you didn't just make it possible for a bunch of disadvantaged kids and struggling parents to have a good holiday...you also gave a sad dork on a track bike a reason to come out and have a good time again.

Thanks to all of the organizers and particiants! Brightening Christmas Day for families and children less fortunate than some of us may be is the true Holiday Spirit. It was nice to see Southern California cyclists show up en-masse for this selfless act of giving.
Special thanks to the Westsidazz organizer(s) for route planning and ensuring all arrived safely. Since I was born (hatched?) on the West Side, I figured a trip from the Motherland was in order for my starting point. Besides, a couple of Venetian friends started from there as well. I hope the flat tire photography assignment dude got what he was looking for and made it back to Culver City with no more mechanicals and that the girl with the wonky cruiser saddle left the drop-off/party with a properly secured saddle.
To the dude with the skateboard in the closet, I apologize if my question was out of line and hope you had a good ride.

Oh, I also want to thank the Vernon P.D. for unintentionally giving us a good laugh during the LBC ride. Specifically, the genius in the black-and-white SUV who crept behind us for a couple of blocks barking at us to "stay as close to the curb as possible if you can't keep up with traffic!"
There was no other traffic besides him--it's fscking Vernon (pop. 91) at 10:30 PM--and he was going our exact speed.

It was such a good feeling to see those 2 Childrens Social Service vans pull in. I mean Midnight Ridazz is really helping out the Community.
Up in NorthEast, it was cool hooking up with the Pa sa dena Ridazz. They were riding hard coming down from Fig. and we all yelled at them, as they didn't see us at first and they did this huge turn and hooked up with us, really cool doing rides where we hook up into bigger groups.
Big thanks to Roadblock and the Midnight Ridazz planning group for putting this together for the children!!!! Hope we can do it each year.
