Does anyone know if there is a ride to the cold storage industrial space for the dance party on Thursday? The gmaps-pedometer link on the ride page shows a loop that doesn't end at the rink.

Anybody know? The last time was a blast!

Hey all, I just got this e-mail (through the RIDE-Arc list) that I thought I should pass on. Just so you know, it doesn't look like there's too much biking actually taking place at this event. Might still be fun to ride down & check out anyway, though.

"I was originally told that there is a bike ride involved with this... but then I got the info from Michael Parker, who runs the RoutesandMethods thing, and it looks like this:

> We will split the willing into three groups, two are battling dance troupes, the third the judge. The rabbits and the foxes will each choreograph their dance on the spot. The winners will be decided by the judges and will be awarded with a couple of bottles of cheap champagne. Dance party afterwards for everyone to ease the intense competitive tension of the dance off with DJ TBD on the wheels of steel laptop! FYI this Battle will take place on the street."

I got the same email from the RIDE-Arc folks as Mr. Rollers so I wrote to the organizer of the event and got the following reply that bikes won't have access to the inside tonight:

"Essentially the construction schedule changed 36 hrs ago and we can't go inside for the next couple of days. The event tonight will take place on the street... a loa westside story or Thriller. Since a lot of bikes will probably show up and be enthusiastic, i think bikes will somehow need to get choreographed into the dance battle.

On Tuesday night when we lost access to the inside only hours before the music was to start, one bike enthusiastic decided to ride around the block that cold storage is located in as a celebration of each successful event that occured inside so far and then one for the first Cold Storage event outside = 26 + 1 = 27 laps. It was pretty awesome. Please note... we have absolute gratitude to the building for allowing us to use the inside for so long and we will be back inside soon... its just that there are some super dangerous things going on inside right now.

So the answer is unfortunately bikes can't go inside, but I think its going to be an awesomely unusual bike friendly evening! I hope to see you tonight."
