nbc4 hit me up about coming along to film on the ride... I told em that last time a news crew came along they fucked it up with their cars so ride along or have our people make the video. lol. they havent called back but if they do I'm getting you guys involved.

Hey, thanks . . . when I went on my first Ridazz (September '05) something told me, "bring a camera & mount it on your bike". Good thought; I've been doing it ever since.
I like how all of our stuff comes out looking different, documenting Ridazz from various perspectives. You guys are doing great work! It makes me want to improve, not in an attempt to imitate, but to push myself to make what I do just a little better.

this is good news, just when I thought everybody hated me for taking pictures.

studiodrone, I look at it this way: It's dirty job, but someone has to do it. Seriously though, most people secretly like having their pictures taken, especially when they come out well, and your photos of the Ridazz just plain ROCK!
If not right away, folks will be thanking you in the years to come for capturing them while they were young and having the time of their lives.

thanks roadblock! that pic definitely came out funnier than I expected!
I took pics last time, but I didn't want to annoy people too much. I'll probably take more on the next ride.

After viewing tadpolerider's clip on the PJ ride, my thoughts on the NBC thing: let them do it, as long as they do it from a bicycle, because that's the way the Ridazz experience should be seen. They've got these little "lipstick" cameras that they use for sports, it would be cool to wire up a half dozen Ridazz (I'm sure there'd be volunteers) & see what happens. They could use their own guy if they had to, but show it from the inside!

yeah I agree.... besides what's the value of having nbc4 come along anyway? for all the headache of posing and allowing their cars to ride along we get a 2 minute clip with some talking head gushing incoherently about "bicycle power!" and spewing cliche newslike catch phrases that some copy editor threw together....

Yes . . . the mainstream media will usually find a way to trivialize, distort, misunderstand or reduce to the lowest common denominator. But if they decide to do it, resistance may be futile. Oh well, maybe we could all give 'em the finger and see if they put that on. Then just go back to what we were doing before.

If you want helmetcam video from a Ridazz perspective, a friend of mine does pretty good work in that realm at
Mountain Bike Bill and can probably be bribed with beer. He doesn't use a lipstick cam, but full res DV format with a counter-balanced vidcam on his helmet. The resolution he gets is DVD quality, though what he posts on the 'net is compressed somewhat.
BTW, I've had a couple of requests for full res shots I have taken and don't mind sending them out. Just make sure you're not on dial-up because I'm shooting high quality at 8mp.

Well.... I asked them if they could get us a lil funding to make an independant news segment. Split the dough on some beers or put it towards spoke cards or shirts type thing.
