We've got a crew together to ride to the Home Depot Center from nearby Metro stations whenever the Los Angeles Galaxy is playing on the weekends.

Are there any soccer fans in the house?

What a perfect mash-up of my favorite things. Riding and Footie! Anyone want to meet up at a Red Line Station in the Hollywood/K-town area?
Thanks for getting this together BillyB!

Galaxy Tix:
This game is against in-town rivals, Chivas, and is almost sold out!
I can reserve a group of 20+ seats for Ridazz. The seats are $25 each on the mezzanine (level 200). This is a savings since you will not have to pay those annoying Ticketmaster "convenience fees".
Please count off if you are interested in tickets. If we have enough interested parties by Thursday 4/5 I will reserve a group. I will then post all the necessary info to get your hands on a ticket. These tix will be available on a first come-first serve basis.
Pass it on!

Holy West Side Ridazz Batman!
Another Green Liner!
I've done a test ride on a couple of different routes from Avalon station on the green line. The Blue Line is the closest and easiest for the majority, but on a future ride, I'd like to include Avalon station as an option.

I'd like to ride from downtown/union station. I think that would be a good place to start from for those of us who come from THE NORTH.

If you don't have tickets to the game, you are welcome to "Stand with the LA Riot Squad" in section 138. Regardless of what your ticket says - section 138 is General Admission, so we could all hang together.
Last I remember, tickets were $24, but I don't know if there's any left for the Chivas game.
Contact Chris Zepeda, and tell him you want tickets with the Riot Squad in 138. You can reach Chris at 310/630-2231 or czepeda@lagalaxy.com

Here's the route we'll be taking. I may have spoke cards made up, but then again, I may not.
We roll from Del Amo Station after the Southbound 6:01PM train arrives.
- Take Del Amo Blvd. West
- Turn Right on Central
- Turn Left on University drive.
- Cut through the back side of the campus around the Track & Field stadium.
I'll be riding from Inglewood & Washington to Aviation station on the Green Line.

Anyone who is down for an even longer ride, I will be leaving from Union Station in Downtown. Meeting at the Alameda entrance at 4 pm, rolling no later than 4:30. We will take the LA River Bike Path for the +/-18 mile ride, then cut over to the Del Amo Station to meet up with the rest of the group by 6. Also, I have 2 extra tickets in the supporters section 138 for $25 each. Anyone interested?

I'm down for doing this again.
What's the consensus on ride length?
Do we want to meet at the nearest Metro station, or do we want a longer ride and then have someone shuttle us home?
I'm down for the longer ride, but that makes it difficult to recruit new people if they don't have a ride home.

Kabuba, I'm down to ride from Union Station, and for the two tickets. What day is the game?

The game was this past Saturday. It was great. Lots of drunken' mayhem.
The ride to the game was also great. Could use a little finessing at the end, but otherwise it was smooth.
We should do this for more home games.

If you missed last weekend's game - then you missed a good one!
The next weekend home game is Saturday May 12th vs. the New England Revolution at 7:30 PM PST.

Galaxy Ridazz #2 is on!
Saturday May 12th @ 4:00 PM
But this time, we're leaving from Union Station. Gather at 4 pm in the garden, south of the Alameda entrance, roll at 4:30. This will give us 2 hours to get down there and an hour to "pre-game" in the lot.
Newbies to the ride - it is a good idea to find a ride home. Everyone I have talked to who is riding has a sucker, I mean driver, to get them home.
If you need tickets - there were quite a few people selling tickets out in the parking lot last game - Beckham has yet to arrive.

Absolutely Nothing went as planned yesterday, but it was still a good time.
I wound up hitching a ride in a van back to an after game party in El Segundo. Somewhere around 2:00 AM I decided to head home via the South Bay Bike path and went for a swim - sans swimsuit.
Drinking beers and smoking a cigar at 2:30 in the morning on the beach while watching planes fly over head fucking rocks man!
I was cruising home singing one of the Galaxy songs when I suddenly found myself sitting on the pavement looking at my bike and wondering:
How did I come out of my clips so easily?

Galaxy Ridazz #3
The Galaxy is playing an "away" game against Chivas this Sunday - May 20th.
There's a pick up game of soccer going on after the game in El Segundo. Check here for more info: http://www.soccerpubs.com/boards/index.php?showtopic=20494
It's a friendly game and we usually have a few girls play with us, but be warned - they're pretty good.
Here's the plan for Sunday:
[*]Drive my car from my house to the Mariposa station in El Segundo
[*]Take the Green Line to Avalon station
[*]Ride my bike six miles to the HDC
[*]Tailgate for a bit
[*]Watch the game
[*]Ride bikes to the Del Amo Station (3 miles)
[*]Take the Metro back to El Segundo
[*]Play a pick up game of soccer with Whiskey & Mermaids
[*]Drink beer afterwards
[*]Drive Home
I'm thinking 9 miles of riding my fixed gear + 90 minutes in section 138 + 2 hours of soccer should do me in.
