Pasadena Civil Rides

Take nothing for granted, especially your freedom to ride your bike on public streets.
The saga of the City of Pasadena's ongoing efforts to put an ordinance in place that give them the authority to restrict the number of cyclists moving on a public street continues.
Still we Ride!
Join us at the "new" Bike Oven for a ride to the Pasadena City Council.
We meet @ 6:00 pm, we ride @ 7:00 pm, the Council meeting starts @ 7:30 pm and goes for a few hours. (we went on at midnight last week!)
Call 323-962-6540 for updates on timing.
p.s. It would be great to have Wolfpack and Badger Song do a ride-by!

Cyclists prevail, Pasadena reverses itself and drops Ordinance!
Props to Over The Hill for hitting the Council both weeks and to Freud5150 for joining us at the Oven.
69 Cyclists packed the City Council Chambers! See you on the Streets!

Hellz yeah!
Thank God the Pasadena Council came to their senses. Mitigating the effects of too many roadies at the Rose Bowl is one thing, banning all group riding on all city streets is quite another.
I wonder what pushed them to oppose the second reading? Having to smell so many bike riders in their chambers? The threats of lawsuits? Or could they have, dare I say it, used reason and sound judgement?
Who is to say.
SoapboxLA and Enci - thanks for getting me to ride out to that meeting last week, and for organinzing people around this issue.
When are we going to have an IlluminateLA benefit party at the Bike Oven?
