Unemployment Rides

After recently getting fired, I've decided that UNEMPLOYMENT RIDES would be great! No, we won't stand in long lines and fill out stacks of paperwork in an office filled with crying babies. We'll just post spontaneous ride during the day or night; but not morning 'cuz i want to sleep in. This is a place for anyone to post rides because they currently have so much 'free time'. So whether you're unemployed, on break, or just want to ditch work or school, post here and get some folks to ride with you!
Ride #1: India Sweets & Spices on Venice and Bagdley for some food? and then we improvise?

I was unemployed for 8 months after the dotcom bubble burst.
It was the most fun I've ever had as an adult.
Enjoy it while it lasts.

I'm gonna be out of school in a couple weeks, I'll be in a sense unemployed (for a little while at least...) and I'll be down to do whatever then...

I am in a sense "semi-retired" now (gasp) and I usually have Wednesdays off. I often end up taking a ride on those days anyway . . . so the more the merrier!

i used this past wednesday to pull my second craziest Los Angeles Bike Stunt (the first craziest being riding to LAX at three in the morning)
at about 6pm, the road full of traffic, i somehow decided to continue from Hollywood and Highland (where I had ridden to for a job interview) and just keep going up and up and up Laurel Canyon.
I made it all the way up to Mulhulland in my lowest gear!!!
hard, yes. but believe me, that shit was WORTH IT!!!!!!
people clapped and honked for me when i made it to the light and rang my bell, but the true reward was that breath-taking view of the valley, just coming upon sunset. i then turned right and rode Mulhulland to Runyon Canyon.
Everywhere you look is this breath taking view that you climbed to on your bicycle! After a few more turns and gradual inclines, you wont *believe* how fast you can go!!!!
Especially on that last hill coming down to the Hollywood Bowl.
wow.
Holy Shit, i take ridiculous risks sometimes. but SO WORTH IT!!!
see y'all tonight!
bicycles,
ingrid
