I also am of the nocturnal nature and have to get up at the crack of dawn, so I am down for another Friday ride...

I'd be up for a Hollywood ride. I'd suggest the third Friday of every month. I know that's NELA critical mass, but I don't think there's too much overlap since a lot of us in the Hollywood area don't have time to make it up there.

Not so much a spot, but can we keep it flat? I'm a fixed gear goof.

Hahaha awesome. Wearing aviator glasses at nite? That could be tricky. You got a route yet?

Hollywood Ridazz... Sounds tasty. So we're talking the 18th at Jumbo's?

I do have a route, and some great feedback from some RIDE Arc guys on planning. Me and a friend are meeting at Jumbo's tonight to do the planning ride at 9- if anyone wants to help out.
I was going to wear aviators, but then I realized that I wear normal glasses and wouldn't be able to see.hmmm.
Anyone down for flat tire duty? I'm going to stop by the kitchen and grab some extra tubes...Any corker's in the house?
Right now, I'm thinking the ride will be about 14 miles with 1 or 2 potty stops.

From my experience, there is a gang of traffic, but I love traffic too.
We will make the judgement call on the test ride tonight.

can we say for sure this is happening on the18th? flyers tommorow night? I got a great name for the ride: MIdnight Ridazz: "the 217" (uh you know, named after the hollywood bus that takes you wherever you need to go?) awesome
p.s. watch out for a 70's Hudson with no plates and bullet holes in the passenger side. It also killed me today. HORRAY FOR HOLLYWood! p.s.s. Corking wont work in hollywood. Second meet up spot for ridazz could be parking lot of RiteAid on Fairfax, just below Sunset. route suggestion: frankling west, caynon road to vine, drop down to hollywood, west to labrea, down to sunset, drop down la cienaga to santa monica, cruise weho, bar stop at motherload.???? To do this, we have to be o.k. with the fact that it will get split up. The other alternative is taking boring ass back roads like some fucking second class riders.

ok.. I'm BRAND NEW to a ride. And pretty new to biking as a whole. I used to bike around in west La by myself, but I just moved to Hollywood. I have a 7speed cruiser. Do you think I could ride without getting left behind in the dust? I'm not really slow or anything but if I get a flat or my chain comes off I might need a hand or I'll be a very lonely rider :(
How bout it.. can I come? huh? Can I?? Can I?? :)

You need to check the ride you are interested in from the selection on the column to the right. Some rides like the WOLFPACK for instance, require lots of speed, a specific kind of bike, and lots of endurance. I've not been able to do one of those ones. But there are other rides that are proly ok as long as you keep close to the front I think. Bring a friend to be on the safe side, or make a friend by coming to the meeting points early. Thats my advice.
Welcome to hollywood!

Thank you... :) But do you know off hand if there any in hollywood.. the list is pretty extensive. I don't have a bike rack.

There is one ride that is always around Hollywood and West Hollywood and that is the Los Angeles Critical Mass ride that takes place on the last Friday of each month (although sometimes hijacked to other places or rides). I would also encourage you to look through all the rides one by one and thru the LINKS section. The bicycle kitchen is close to LACC and there are plenty of Hollywood bikers that hang out there. They even got women only nights and activities from what I understand.
