I'm so glad I checked the site when I got home at 1:00 in the morning. I was not expecting a ride to be happening at 2:00. Yay for the moon, astronomy is cool, knowledge is power, eat your vegetables. Yeah...

Did you guys get a good view of the eclipse down there among the bright lights of LA?

FAWK the alarm clock didn't wake me up..
I was too busy snoozing from a good ride in Griffith Park..
I went to eat with a friend and he forgot his wallet (his turn to treat)..
I had to race from Silverlake to Macarthur Park (not too far but Alvarado.. that hill is fun both ways!) to get some $$$$..
Guess I was a little more tired than I thought!

I got a bloody moon for my birthday!!
Ride last night was pretty fun, although I shouldn't have eaten that donut at 7-11 afterwards before that slight grade up Lincoln towards Santa Monica. Hit my stomach rather rough there. Thanks a lot lot lot lot lot to Gary who let me borrow his awesome commuter and to everyone showing some L.A. love to Portland. I'm goin back up north tomorrow evening, and I'll definitely make a point of it to ride with you guys- maybe even bringing down MY freakin bike in the process- in December, which is when I'm coming down next. Really happy to see how many different rides you guys all have going on, ALL the time. Any one of you will always have a place to crash and a bike to borrow if/when you come up to PDX.
ride on~

I posted some of the decent pics here, and I put ALL of the pics on
flickr. So those of you that took pics on my camera and wanted them, or those of you like that like blurry, unfocused shots, go check it out.

Happy birfday, LeOH. Glad you had fun down here. Thanks again for putting up with me and the rest of the dirty dirty Californians.
Bring some Zoobombers down with you in December; with any luck we will have gotten our shit together regarding the LA Bomb Squad.

Wish I was there with y'all.
I was having to stick around the Fontucky area for load assignment.
I checked the eclipse out after working out though.
That was a trippy, blood-red color that came through.
I took some pics of it, but it looks like a fried egg in the wine cellar.
I also had my water bottle eject from the handlebar-cage and nail me in the face after hitting a R/R Right-of-way real hard.
Those rails stick out like 6 inches above the pavement going down San Berdo past Industrial Way!!
