I am recording any coveage on smcm that happens tonight....I am a little far away to be able to make it....so I am recording any news coverage that comes up. I had to work too late to be able to make it out to smcm...and I live way out in badger territory. I hope the ride is going well, and I am watxhing some shitty tv shows, waiting to get the coverage.

Wow, KTLA's coverage was great and seemed fairly well-balanced. Hopefully they'll post the clip on the LA Times site, if Tern didn't get it. Kudos to Kieron and the other well-spoken bikers for reprazentin' with their smart sound-bites!

If the coverage could be posted, that would kick sooooo much ass.
At least I could get more of a better perspective of what actually goes down.
KTLA 5, got to give the "Fish-Man" credit!!!

Wink Martindale's favorite news team at Fox did a not-so-awful report that wasn't as Rupert-esque as I expected. And even though they gave Alex Thompson some face time, it didn't seem as well-balanced as KTLA's (and by the way bentsrider, no credit for the Fish-man--he died four months ago [sniff--and not the kind you're thinking of Wink!]). Since they share news assets, the same exact report also ran on KCOP or My 13 News or whatever the hell they call it.

Fish-Man's dead?!?!?
Well, four months ago, I was still driving the rig(not anymore sniff)
and never got around to watching LA news as much.
I'm not quite sure if we should really call it "local news" up here in the desert.

That mayor sounds like what the majority of the High Desert sounds like when it comes to bicycles.
"Too many of y'all are blocking traffic, break it up."
I'll be damned if they impose "mandatory-solo's".
I go through that dreadful experience everyday of the week.
I got to get my "crowd" on sometime.

I caught a brief clip of NBC's coverage of the Mass this morning on the news. I'll burn it to a DVD, but i've never uploaded video to youtube or here. I'll see what i can do.

Get a parade permit. A permit to ride one's bike. That is just wrong on so many levels.

I try to tell them - I'M NOT THE ORGANIZER. I must have told each reporter that twice.
Good ride last night - y'all should of seen the reception on Abbot Kinney - unbelievable.

Parading without a permit is bullshit. They tried to pull this off in New York and arrested a bunch of massers in 2005. The courts sided with CM and stated that the NYC parade laws were unconstitutional and ""constitutes a burden on free expression that is more than the First Amendment can bear."

The harassment will never stop if we just run away. Civil disobedience is necessary when faced with oppressive regimes like the People's Republic of Santa Monica.
