broke my back axle

and i have no idea how i did it. at the 'wave last night cleaning that back wheel up and went to put it back together again and encountered Fail cos axle was neatly snapped in half. such are the Mysteries of Bike.

anyone else care to share their inexplicable or otherwise interesting mechanical failures?

man i gotta fix this thing pronto. there's riding to do.

I had a bent axel ... not sure how it happened. I had to change it at the kitchen. It took about an hour+ with some supervision.

Finding a replacement can be tricky.
I'm sure the fine people at the 'wave can walk you through fixing the axel.

Everybody I talk to says only freewheels break axles not cassettes.
