I am sorry to say...the badger song is over. This has been a huge part of my life (and other badger song riders) for close to a year. I hoped tis wouldn't happen. This is my saddest post ever on midnight ridazz.

Sorry to hear that Tern. It was a great run. You've put in a great effort. It probably would be hard for anyone to appreciate how much work it takes to make a ride last. But I'm sure Badger song will be remembered as one of the pioneer rides in your area. Your crew did it when your type of cycling was not that popular.
Thanks to you and your crew for all that you've done. You just made it easier for others.

Not my lack of interest.
I have put a big fucking year into this ride.
I tried to change things up, and it made it worse.
The plus: We made nine century pus riders.
This was so fun.

Unfortunately for Badger Song, their area is already saturated with bike rides. There are 6 or 7 established road bike clubs in the area with multiple bike rides throughout the week. Due to the area's proximity to the mountains, mountain biking is very popular too. There probably 10 or more bike shops within a 5 mile radius.
Introducing urban riding is a challenge since most people are engaged in multiple cycling disciplines. Making the commitment, to come out at 10PM on a Monday night, to ride hard is a tough sell because of the other options. You need new riders every week for any ride to succeed.
All that being said, Drew you did a great job. A year is an outstanding accomplishment.

well big Tern you are fam and always welcome on The Hustle Ride until you can find some homies to start up Badger Song once again.... besides, it's winter time and that tends to thin out the crowd. :)

I am sorry to learn this, Tern. The two times I made it out were fun, but I live too far away to be a regular.
Of course this ending will evolve into a new thing. I know you.

Damn dude,
I'm sorry to hear! You did an excellent job with the BS (badger song haha) and i am thankful you the other badgers out there were always so kind when meeting up with the cubbiez. Long distance relationships DO work! lol Keep it real, and hopefully it'll start up again!

Well, at least your idea got off the ground and stayed aloft longer than mine did.
People and their paper-thin, skin.
Too cold, too rough.
Perhaps it too, will rise again, and become something else.
"The Jagged-Edge Bop", something will eventually come out of that oven you call an imagination.

WHAT!? Hmmm....I know if you're making this decision its for the better, and is unavoidable. Thanks for the year of inspiration (and hospitality). It was always good knowing you were out there doing your thing. I was even thinking about another meetup, since you guys switched to Thursday.
On the flip side, I always wanted you to start a ride called DrewBomb. DREWBOMB!!!
Keep it real! Keep it fun! Keep it Drew!

Hey Tern,
Don't forget that Badger Song is a crew, not just a weekly ride.
Rides come and go, but a crew lives on.

I say if it's lack of interest, perhaps place it on a bi-weekly basis.
That word of mouth would usually get far out enough to the point more people are in the know.
As for my Desert Swarm, I'll post it sporadically when I feel the weather and times are right.

yah good times everyone. not my lack of interest either. i'd love to see it happen still, but everyone has their priorities. there's other fast rides all over the city so there will be rides to attend. hope everyone can make it out to the Sunday Night Mass happening in West Covina every Sunday night. Info posted on bikeboom. prolly here soon. Its Ernie's ride he started and it's picking up great momentum on the east side for us. It's mainly Me, Ernie and Gabe. We all used to ride the Badger, so this is in a sense a continuation of that same spirit.
