Europe is always a step ahead in bike plans and here's one more. A friend of mine I met at Germany told me about the Bike Trees set up at Geneva, Switzerland. Bike Trees work to reduce bike parking spaces in public places to lift up your bike in suspended animation and it's usually 12 racks per tree. You can call up your bike to be parked via web or cell phone. You don't have to lock up your bike since it's up in the air and its security setting is locked from a smart card. So it's not like anybody would just come up and take them.
It's pretty awesome and I'd wish they'd have them here in the states. I'm guessing it'll come soon in a few years in the states. Hopefully.
Haha, I posted that same video up a few months ago.
If you really think about it, it's kind of a hassle. Mainly because of the cost of one. There are a few in LA from what I hear.
