One of these days, we (shouldn't) have a drag race through the 3rd street promenade on a friday night

i mean around 8pm, at peak human traffic time

Umm, really bad idea. Horrible might be a better word. Cycling has enough trouble in SM, and there is a specific law on the books governing bike riding on the promenade. In fact I know someone who got a ticket for bike riding the promenade even though they were actually rollerblading in the parking garage. Go figure.

well see, I have a better idea
we all arm ourselves with guns, and shoot anyone who tries to ticket us, I hear its a great way to make people respect bike riders
no shotguns though, because people respect careful aiming more than sheer blasting power

From the top of the mall parking garage there is a great vantage point for a sniper..

Oh yeah, and the security staff there is both slow physically as well as mentally.

May i suggest that you do not joke and make humorous comments like this on the MR message boards (or any board for that matter). We've attracted alot of attention over the past year and i'm sure someone is reading and our threads and even though this is all in jest, they may not see it the same way. No need to bring on heat where its not necessary.
just my .02 cents.

Cubcamp crossbiked the Promenade a few months ago during the Totally Kriss Krossed Out Race.

so it seems obvious that racing the promenade is not only feasible...in fact, it may even be blasé

Cubcamp indeed crossbiked it, from both sides,
