P.S. When I say "moderate" hills, I actually mean moderate, unlike Danny, who means 30% grade.
Also, they'll mostly be rolling hills, so if you hate inclines, you'll at least be able to use your downhill momentum to help you up.

Ok, i've left a message for the organizer of the Sunday ride. I feel a little guilty not being there but my love for Dim Sum (and you guys) are a stronger. I just need to hear back from Beth to make sure they aren't doing some really long ride that i need to do. If its one of the usual ones, then i'm there like Steamed BBQ pork buns.
Are you sure we'll be able to make it back afterwards? I usually like to take a power nap after i eat Dim Sum. ;-)

hey stevo why don't you just do the 38 mile malaga cove ride on saturday - i'm gonna do that one myself, then you can get some dim sum love on sunday and not miss out on anything. i'm pretty sure shifting gears isn't doing anything that long on the weekend right?

Hey Ben,
I was planning on riding Saturday morning but hadn't decided yet between the Santa Monica to Malagra Cove 38 miler or the Encino-Calabasas 50 miler. Plus i'm doing the Friday night Toy ride so need to figure out how that will play out.
Regardless, you should ride with the Bike attack group instead of riding alone since they are basically going to the same place. And Sunday's SG ride is the San Pedro loop ride but i've done that several times so i'm Dim Summing it regardless. Woot!

I'm definitely gonna try and haul my ass out of bed tomorrow morning for this one...sounds funskies, and despite considering myself somewhat knowledgeable about matters, ah...gastronomique...i have never actually had dim sum (would the proper verb here be 'take', like tea or something?).
so yeah. see ya there...can i wear my jersey or will i be the only one? :)

WOW! Thanks for coming out, everyone. I was impressed by the turnout, considering it was 9am on a Sunday. Great friends, amazing food, a solid ride. I had an awesome time.
I don't remember the name of the dude who suggested going over the bridge from Pasadena on Colorado, but yowza, that was pretty - thanks!
Here's the route.
Sorry bout the lack of spoke cards - I have the graphic, just never had time to print and laminate them. If you email your address to anhcore (at) gmail (dot) com, I'll send one out to you - or I can just pass them out as I see you all out on rides.

Thanks Trekkie for putting this together. Nice ride. Good roads overall. I usually goto Ocean Star or the other one across the street, so it was nice trying a new recommendation. Very Tasty! I was also happy with my time it took me to replace my tube. Almost a new personal best.
And always nice ending a ride with a cup of Scoops!
Nice meeting everyone.

Looks like I missed a fun ride and great food. What spot did you guys go to?
The two Chinatown mainstays (Ocean Star and Empress Pavilion) are pretty good, but the real action is in the San Gabriel Valley.

Cab,
You mean Ocean Seafood and Emperor's. Ocean Star is the big - ass one in San Gabriel/Monterey Park.
We rode out to MP/Rosemead area to Sea Star. A new one to me but the food was really good and has gotten good reviews. The only thing different was that there are no rolling carts with Dim Sum Girls pushing them. We just order off the menu and fill out a little check list for the items we wanted. And the food just kept coming and coming.
I'm a big fan of Ocean Seafood and Ocean Star and Sea Star is def a rec if your in that part of town.

Dang! I thought it was Sea Harbour after seeing the photos. The wait is usually pretty long there, but totally worth it.
Vancouver-style dim sum rules!

I am very sorry to have missed this. As it was, I had a monstrous work xmas party the night before (it was at the Edison downtown, had a Roaring '20s theme), followed by an afterparty (evildrome boozerama), followed by a hangover of Epic Proportions.
I think y'all mighta had more fun.
