Everyone calls me John Clark and when I was really young my mom would always try not to use bad language .. so she would always say "Osnap" instead of " O shit" ... so when I 'd drop something or do something bad .. it would sound like this " Osnap John Clark" .I then made this my first ever email osnapjc ... then my freshmen year in college my roommate would always say "O snap son John Clark" ... so there it is .

i forgot the password to that, and ended up making superblueman3, and i just always stuck with that for some reason.......

^^That's me 9 or 10 years old. I've always been the Shotgun, since before the internets were popular. One day years ago at my local BMX track, the announcer added an enthusiastic "BOOM BOOM" to my nickname during a race and this is what I have been known as ever since.

la duderina was a way of maintaining anonymity on this forum, but that got shot to hell and I like shotgunBOOMBOOM much better.

In the late 70's I got linked in to the international mailart network.
This was about 1,000 artists from around the world who would send each other small art works and letters, 'zines etc. through the mail. This is what we did before Al Gore invented the internet. It was Christmas in my mail box every day back then.
Due to the anonymous nature of the post, many artists made up names for themselves.
Radio Free Dada, L.A. Dada Squad, A-1 Waste Paper Company, Anna Banana, Private World, Avenue B School of Art and so on and so forth.
I liked Creative Thing because it was gender neutral (Like my actual name).
I've been Creative Thing since 1980.

In the Bible, the Book of Revelation (13:17-18) cryptically asserts 666 to be "the number of a man," associated with the beast, an antagonistic creature that appears briefly about two-thirds into the apocalyptic vision. The calculation of the number was a challenge that has inspired many would-be mystics and prophets ever since.

In modern popular culture, 666 has become one of the most widely recognized symbols for the Antichrist or, alternately, the Devil. Earnest references to 666 occur both among apocalypticist Christian groups and in explicitly anti-Christian subcultures, such as that surrounding some heavy metal bands. An appearance of the number 666 in contemporary Western art or literature is, more likely than not, an intentional reference to this number of the Beast symbolism. Such popular references to 666 are too numerous to list.

It is not uncommon to see the symbolic role of the integer 666 transferred to the digit sequence 6-6-6. Some people take the satanic associations of 666 so seriously that they actively avoid things related to 666 or the digits 6-6-6. This is known as hexakosioihexekontahexaphobia.

That's funny! In a similar fashion, they used to call me "let's smoke a bowl" because I would say it all day long in school. Canoga Park High was good to me. I would buy acid from a guy who sold it out the glove box in an Oldsmobile across the street from the HS for $5/hit.

Nowadays I only smoke out about twice a year because I'm such a lightweight now.

Acid was five bucks a hit when I was in high school, and that was a long time ago. This means, of course, that the price of acid in inflation-adjusted dollars is steadily decreasing. And *that* means that Ram Dass's mid-1960s dream of eliminating the thuggish element of the entheogenic drug distribution model by flooding the market with so much stuff that the profit motive eventually disappears is coming true. Very, very slowly. Like when you're on ACID!

Acid was $5 for me too. But most of the time it was free thanks to a very supportive older bro. No joke, he would hook me up with all the good stuff, but wouldn't let me smoke cigarettes.

No lie, I was frying my ass of in a hotel room when I was like 15 years old. We were on our way to Narnia that year, but it got canceled (broken up) at the last minute, so we drove around and ended up in Artesia in some hotel. For some reason, that night I convinced myself I needed a smoke and for a portion of the night I was tripping because I thought i was addicted to cigarettes. I didnt smoke after that night, but next thing I know, for like the past decade plus, I've felt this slight need for a cigarette, but i dont smoke.

Also, there was a girl nicknamed "speed" with us that night too (first time I met her)... I remember her standing in front of the TV telling us that we cant watch TV and she kept turning it off and standing in front of it, and then she got embarrassed and jumped under the sheets.

So we went down to Denny's at like 3am and ordered an Apple Pie. Three of us just sat there and ate the pie from the box because the waiters didn't think we were going to pay, and they gave up styrofoam plates and plastic forks to dine with, though we told them we wanted to eat inside.... wow, that took me back...

Yeah, but think of the alternatives. It's got a much nicer ring to it than "hand ant rinse," "dash an intern" or "hen in tar sand," doesn't it? And let's not even speak of the "sad anther inn"...

So then: nathansnider it is!

ubrayj02 = U(ser) br(1st two letters of last name) J (1st letter of first name) 02 (number of similar id's) - USCB's shitty user name generation system for campus email when I was in college.

ubrayj00 and ubrayj01 were both lost due to fuckups on my part when I was going to college around the turn of the century.

Once i got that name I decided that I would take it back from the machine that gave it to me, and use it in everything I did making it my own and something more than a means of controlling me and my identity.

I was going to resurrect a Corey Leet thread in some manner but this might place might do as well.

I've noticed that the LACBC is working with the MidnightRidazz and the organizer(s) of the Bike Town Beta 3 also has the participation of the MidnightRidazz as well.

I, kinda, sorta, try to keep up with whats going on here but did I miss some discussions regarding the backing of those two things by the Ridazz or is Corey Leet actually making the rounds? just curious. They both sound like worthwhile activities btw.

The genesis of the nicknames are interesting. Regardless of weather or not it is valuable, here's mine.

rev106

the rev is because like many of my friends in the 80's and 90's we became reverends via some mail order world christainship ministries. You can actually get a two dollar discount at Disneyland for being cloistered. No joke.

the 106 is in my younger years we (the bmx riding hesher children that I'm still friends with) used to loiter at the local Carl's Jr. In order to loiter you needed to buy something, the price of a small drink after tax was 1.06. All of my friends from this time in my like have e-mail that has "106" in it somewhere.

When I was in high school I had to make a collage, and one of the elements I used was a blown up photocopy of the cover to Black Flag's "My War". I had a an extra one when I was done, which I had blown up too much so the "B" was missing. I put it on my bedroom wall.

Shortly after that I was opening up my very first email address with one of those AOL 10 Hours Free! discs that were flying around everywhere at the time. Even in 1995 every name I could think of was already taken. Then I noticed my little poster. "lackflag" has been been my login ID for most things ever since. It is never taken.
