anyone know any good anime?

i've already seen and am a fan of cowboy bebop, neon genesis, samurai champloo, fullmetal alchemist: brotherhood, code geass.

i've seen, but am not a fan of flcl, dragonball kai, chobits.

 I was really into Trigun when I was younger, that was fun. There's Vampire Hunter D, I haven't seen the shows or read the books (not huge anime fan), but the movies are really great.

 Anything put out by Studio Ghibli like Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, or especially Grave of the Fireflies. I gotta warn you that the last one is really depressing.

Akira is a classic you should see if you haven't yet. Also, I enjoyed Patlabor when that came out. Check out the OAVs first before the tv series. You might like Macross Plus or Ninja Scroll too. If you're into drifting, there's Initial D. Great Teacher Onizuka is a funny series to get into.

 Pokemon is not anime.

Compelling stories are told in all forms, be it melo-drama, soap opera, sports, racing, books.............

Some anime is wonderful art. Some "anime" is total crap.

 I love all the Miyazaki stuff, but Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, one of his firsts, is still my personal favorite. Especially timely right now seeing as I'm sure it had some influence on Avatar, and predates Fern Gully for animated environmental undertones.

 I loved Outlaw Star. I saw it when I was in high school, but I remember loving it.

Mobile Suit Gundam- the Movie Trilogy, this is the giant robot show that broke the mold back in the day. Instead of Power Rangers type robots fighting monsters, or a bunch of lions copulating each other to make a giant robot, the robots in this show were military hardware, albeit a little shiny and humanoid looking. Earth vs space colonies is the background for this.
I highly recommend the sequel, Zeta Gundam. Giant robots, intense personal conflicts, good solid story with an amazing body count. You want things a little grittier, check VOTOMS, but that's harder to find.

Someone mentioned Ninja Scroll. GET THAT! Such a good movie.
Miyazaki flicks[My Neighbor Totoro, Nausicaa, Kiki's delivery service] are sooooo Good, you can't go wrong with them. For the kids, but also has adult themes, and just real feel good kind of movies.

hmm, there's so many out there.... Yoma: Curse of the Undead [old 80's flick about a Ninja battling the supernatural], Death Note is pretty good too. Wicked City...
