I’m going to go out on a limb here and guess that most of you readers are probably not LACBC members. What is the LACBC? It’s the LA County Bicycle Coalition, and you know what? I think it could be better.
There, I said it. I’m calling you out LACBC!
Take a look at the LACBC calendar: http://labike.org/events/calendar.html
There is some really cool stuff on there. Somewhat similar to the calendars you look at but more… but mooooree…. Ok, older. More organized. A little bit less cool. No beer drinking near bicycles.
And that’s kind of ok.
But then, last week they placed the AMGEN Tour of California on the calendar.
*sigh*
So how can it get better? Well, the people have power, and the midnight ridazz are the people. Seriously. There’ve been bike clubs in LA since the beginning of time. I heard once that the Auto Club of Southern California originated from a bicycle group organizing to get smoother roads. But you guys are like OH MY GAWD.
You can help in two ways: Become a member QUICK!!! And then vote in the upcoming election. Become a member BEFORE MARCH 12. And when you vote—VOTE FOR SOMEONE WHO REPRESENTS YOUR SUPER SPECIAL STYLE.
Or if you think you really want to give--announce your candidacy for the LA County Bicycle Coalition Before March 7th.
Board members attend monthly meetings, they are required to devote volunteer time to developing the LACBC, and they get all the fajitas they can eat.
Just kidding. No fajitas.
Be a member of the LACBC and VOTE!!!! Students: $15. Humans $35.
For more information, visit the LACBC website, they’re inviting you to run: http://labike.org/
Let's chat motherfuckers!

I just joined a couple weeks ago.
Critical Mass "Protest Rides" and Midnight Ridazz are an extraordinary amount of fun, but protesting doesn't do a damn bit of good if we don't tell the people who run the city, design the roads, etc. what is that we want.
Get there ya bunch of degenerates.
