from the marathon website:
BIB
• In 2003, the Los Angeles Marathon became the first race in the U.S. to add participants names to their bibs. In 2008, we will once again allow participants to write in your legal name or your nickname. This will be the name printed on your bib. We reserve the right to edit any name.
