 What exactly is a woman's road bike? I thought most road bike frames, in a particular brand/model, had the same geometry. There might be a few components that are women's specific like a saddle but they should be all similar.

I guess what I'm saying is find a road bike that fits, that should increase your choices. Women specific bikes usually means it might be a different color and some women specific components (which is marketing hype in my opinion).

 Most bike companies 'pink & shrink" their men's bikes for the female market. i.e smaller frames and different colors. Woman spicific bikes, with different geometry, smaller brake levers, etc. are quite pricy, unfortunatly.

 while women's specific branding can be all hype, the geometry usually is better suited to most women. they more often come with a bit shorter top tube than most men's bikes, and believe it or not, most women have shorter torsos and longer legs.

send your lady friend in to bitchen monday nights at the bike kitchen. there is always atleast one or two of us that can help her find atleast a good sized bike. men's or women's style.
