Hey guys, I need all of your guys wisdom for this one. I'm trying to ride my bike from Ventura County to my buddies college in Aliso Viejo. Perhaps someone can give me some advice on the best route down there. I was thinkin PCH all the way down would be chill, but I'm not sure if bikes are allowed the entire route. Thanks.. Its about 100 miles.

I'd just take pch all the way as you said.
A bunch of us did it from here to SD and had no problems.
Most of the drivers in OC are used to seeing bikers on the streets so they're usually pretty respectful.

PCH may be fine. I've never cycled the Lomita, Torrance section, so not sure about that.
I once rode from Long Beach to Santa Paula. The route I took through L.A. was (in reverse) PCH south to LAX. Imperial East to the San Gabriel River, SGR bike trail south to PCH in Seal Beach, continue on PCH. I did Imperial early in the morning when traffic was quiet. Later in the day may be a different story.
There's some funny turning to get around Marina Del Rey south of Santa Monica, but its pretty easy to follow.
My ride to Santa Paula was 100 miles. I'm thinking your ride will be over 100 miles.
Post when you are doing this epic ride. I for one would like to meet up at some point and roll a while.

The Lomita/Torrance sections is pretty sketchy. The lane gets really narrow and there isn't much room between you and the cars. People also fly quick out that way. I just take the lane because I'm a dick and that's how I roll. Just be careful.

Torrance/Lomita is fine. Just take a lane when you need to and watch for road hazards. It's nothing that you would need to detour for. There's a little bump of a hill--more of a "hillette"--as you enter Torrance from Redondo Beach, because you're skirting the edge of San Pedro Hill*. Since you're a strong enough cyclist to consider riding from Ventura to Aliso Viejo, it won't be shit to you. You can do eet!

Also, I can post you a route between Marina Del Rey and Lomita that you may find easier and more scenic and enjoyable than PCH. LMK if you want to see it.
