There has been a lot of talk on this forum about longer distance rides so I wanted to share this. Would be dope to have a few MR groups out there. Lots of possible routes from up here as well.
The
San Diego Century Riders are hosting a 360km (226 mile) Fleche ride ending in Oceanside on Sunday, March 30th at 10am. Where does it start? That is up to you! A Fleche is a randonneuring-style group ride where each team (3-5 cyclists) makes its own 226-mile route and completes it in 24 hours. Like spokes on a wheel each team will ride into Oceanside, the hub, at approximately 10am on Sunday. It is a cycling adventure that is open to all clubs and teams. You do not have to be a
Randonneur USA member, but your route does have to be approved by Mike Berry (mberry2 (at) cox.net) of SD Century Riders. Check out
here for all of the rules/logistics.
My club (Swarm!) hopes to have a couple of teams out there, each riding their own route. Lastly, there is a metrolink train at 210pm that day back to Union Station.

Markedge...we could go our own way and find our own route...which I am really into....
Or, we might be able to hook up with some swarm riders.
I would really like to start riding with them at some point....
