Ah, and lest we forget, Summer '08 was also the summer of amazing and inspiring jonnyboy videos!
I'm watching that video and being astonished that all those things happened on a single ride. I think that that Crank Mob may be responsible for fully 25% of my fond bicycle memories from Summer '08. Thanks for bringing it back!

Yeah, I'll agree that Summer '07 and '08 were both good for their own reason, '07 being the year I stumbled onto the scene in Vegas, and '08 for just being kick ass.
'09 just seems to be chock full of high-speed teeny boppers on high speed rides and the after-drama from their "who gives a fuck" tactics.
It's time to take back the streets!!!!!!

The only "time-paradox" here is the fact that you flushed your toilet after making doody and it overflowed 10 minutes into the future after you left the seat.

SECONDARY MEETUP ANNOUNCED:
12AM @ PICO & SAWTELLE @ BEST BUY
For everyone that is or happens to be unable to make the start, there will be a second meetup for the 2nd leg of the ride (actually very close to the start) at the Best Buy on Sawtelle & Pico at 12AM.
To the group who starts the start---
Leave then if you do dare:
we will be close to the start
for those that are weak at heart,
but I'm hoping you'll play the part
by making last year's art
into a great experience once more
to the very finish from the start.
Imagine a box of crackers which represents all of Summer '08. We have to pound all of those crackers into one ridiculous supercracker at a ratio of 90:1. So be prepared!
Welcome to Summer '08 Decompression.
We will also be quickly stopping by the LA Brakeless Gallery Show at or near 11:30 to pick up people who feel like riding with us on the 2nd half of the ride, then we will pick up anyone who wants to meet up at Crank Mob Best Buy.

08 was a great year. a merciful year. a year filled with emotion and still pristine from the touch of the underage new generation. when stealing, didn't have much more than a word to say about bikes or bike related phenomena.

got home about 45 minutes ago from this ride... it was an amzing amazing ride ending with watching the sun rise on mostache bridge and food at ihop

Thanks to everyone that came! That was the most fun I've ever had leading a ride. It almost felt like 2 rides, and parts definitely felt like Summer 08!
We basically did a figure 8 across West LA, which ended up being about 31 miles! It ended up being mainly a combination of routes from Crank Mob & F'N West side ride, and a few small takes from other rides too.

the whole ride was awesome.. i like everyone sprawled out on the bridge passed out and the ol man asking if they were dead. haha..

We should make these "commemoration" rides a monthly, or bi-monthly thing.
With all the new ridazz coming into the circle, we should continually place emphasis on the fact that cycling is about a whole, lot more than flashy rims and breaking speed records.
