Anyone planning anything around this?

There has been some talk amongst Passage Ride folks about riding to see the Mass in transit (mostly just about
seeing it rather than following its route, but still, just look at that route; it's a thing of beauty - ridiculous, inconvenient beauty).
There's interest, anyway. If we don't do it,
somebody should.

It will pass about a mile from my house, near Hawaiian Gardens.
When is this happening, and how fast will the rock be traveling?

I don't think they've said when exactly it is happening yet. But it will happen late at night. Over the course of many days. Very slowly (less than 10 miles per hour). The thing is HUGE.

Yes, during 9 nights or maybe more if they encounter problems. Always possible!
MIranda Carroll communication director at LACMA:
“We’ll be getting the message out before the holidays, so people know what’s happening, but we just want to be absolutely certain,” says Carroll.

Well, it looks like if Passage wants to visit the rock, next Wednesday will be a good night for it--it will be leaving Bixby Knolls and touring Long Beach, Wilmington, and the Harbor Gateway before coming to rest in Carson.

The stone spent the weekend up the street from my childhood home in Rowland Heights. Early tomorrow morning it is due to rest at South and Spring in Lakewood, near my present home.

For purposes of timelapsing the rock's last leg through the city, unless I have a sudden attack of common sense I'm planning on pulling an all-nighter Friday and following it from South LA up and over to LACMA. I'll be leaving Spring Street and 5th for Figueroa and Florence at 9:15 on 3/9.

So are there any rides joining the monolith tomorrow night at Figueroa and Florence? Thinking about following it on the final leg.
