 I'm from there. I have many bike friends riding, building, and partying but just like every city that ISN'T l.a., there's almost no group rides. If you get a chance to party at "The Vickery House" in lower Greenville, you'll meet the right people. Yeah.

 I used to go to Gainesville, TX. all the time on business a few years back. It's about 2 hours north of DFW airport. Last time I was there was this time last year. I had to go to lay someone off just before the Christmas break. It sucked in so many ways....

I hope you can find some great riding and some great people to ride with - but , from what Ive seen on my trips, I think you might be right about it's "$gonna be a bitch!"
