i have, but without knowing it was going to be a race. the ventura route will be slightly uphill while the one in ojai will be practically flat the entire way. that is, if i am correct in what i think the course layouts to be.

oh dang, you guys are gonna be riding up to thatcher! i hope they have repaved those roads out in the east end because there are tons of potholes and other obstacles to look out for back there.

I got 11th place overall, Cat 4. Not sure about everyone else, but the races were really rough with 80% of the field getting dropped (and even lapped) both days... Cheers to the ridazz that came out everyone deserves a solid congrats for sticking through both days of pain.

That race is stupid!
Those turds cannot even pay the pro riders! They got 30 grand in entry fees and only put 2 towards the pro purse. Yeah make top ten and get twenty bucks....

They screwed up the results of the Cat 5 crit by giving lapped riders (such as myself...) better times than we should have recieved. And then they failed to have anyone mark the first turn on the circuit race which caused most of the peloton to ride past it.
Though I
officially placed 22nd overall, I know that's bullshit. I'm waiting for the individual stage results to be posted so I can see how I did only on stage 2, which I believe was more legit.
Mitch of Bicykillers placed 5th overall in Category 5 and won some KOM points. And aside from e-rock and myself, other racerzz there were Ryan Barrett, _ijunes, robin swabin, Gary Kavanaugh, and the Wolfpack Chris. I think Beatrice of Wolfpack also raced in the Cat 1-2 womens race and placed well.

First about the purse, the promoters put a lot effort into getting this race started. I don't think they made any money, I heard it was a loss for them financially. Unless a race is really established and well sponsored, there is a little money to be made. A lot of the money goes into permits (state and local), race officials, law enforcement, fencing and barricades, etc. Over 70% of the entry fees probably went to these.

My unofficial results were 5th in both criterium and circuit, 5th overall (cat 5) and 3rd overall for KoM
Hopefully no one contested and bumped me out of top 5

this was probably the reason why it was so hard to catch up, i overinflated my tires and rode on shitty roads that didnt help at all with the rolling resistance.
that start finish though whatever street was on was nicely paved, picked up some serious speed coming down that thing.
and that second to last turn, i ALWAYS missed it. i overshot it everytime. the race marshall warned me the first lap, but every lap after that i still couldnt get it and the marshall was already with the lead pack.
