Great turn out....3 people lol but hella fun! Good riding Jude and Skidz!
After we all split up, this car rushed by me and a few blocks up totalled into a parked van. The driver sumbled out and ran. He was probably drunk and going 60+ mph.
I'm lucky i didn't hustle back or he could have hit me.
Snickies!! Holy crap man. That thing is still sizzling. Glad you're cool. and good to see you back Richie. So didn't make it brass? NY? Sounds like fun. So cubpack gonna be awesome for tomorrow? BTW... if you guys were taking the bike path down... how about all the turns and the sand? Could you guys still go fast?
Man... I didn't see the pics of the scouts... nice pics Richie. I think it's also cause you've got great models to work with... lol. Check out Marcus and the new ride! It looks sweet bro. Man... I was feeling good after cubpack #2 cause when you had that mtb.. I wasn't last anymore. Then on cubpack #3... you had that other bike... you was kickin arse... and now I'm for sure going to be in trouble... lol. See ya'll tomorrow!!
CUBSCOUTS
IS THE SHIT
I fuggin love the rides, but I like the ideas that are flowin the whole way there and back. It seems non-stop, even on both Scouts Rides. 100% CHANCE OF BRAINSTORMS...I like how we started a tradition of starting a new tradition every ride.
ANYHOO I'll see yall twice a week, like my toothbrush.
I'm glad you're okay; I'll see you tomorrow! Digable, you don't need to worry about being last tomorrow; I've got the flu and am basically coasting... This is a fun route, don't miss out!

"CUBSCOUTS" is the weekly route-scouting ride every Tuesday before the Thursday "CUBCAMP". All CUB rides are fast-ride intended to train (or deter) riders for Wolfpack rides. Every fifth ride (this week is #5) is the most-difficult of a five-week cycle. 80% chance of spoke cards. Despite the lengthy route, please, no cannibalism until Scoutleaders eat first.
I just wanted to apologize for this week's route. Not because I didn't make one, but because I DID make one, and its brutal. It gave my hand cramps while clicking it out. HAHAHAAA
TOMORROW-
ALL SCOUTS PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE
will receive the highest award EVER given to a bicycle-route scout on the West side of LA. If you've done a Scout ride or will do one tomorrow, you will receive a medal that will surely create an aura of deep envy when worn in public. Report to headquarters tomorrow at 2100 hours for honorary jealousy device.

One of our VERY OWN CUBBIES was victim of CRUEL and RUTHLESS Bicycle Shaming! We have received a photo from a bystander just a few minutes ago. If you know who these hooligans are, or have any leads for us, please send an email to

I won't be there tonight. I, in a moment of forgetfulness, offered to make Becky dinner tonight. Since I would like to continue sleeping indoors this month, i have to follow through. I'll probably see you guys tomorrow though.
SCOUTS! Great riding last night. You really went above and beyond the call of duty and I think we've got a great route planned for this Thursday. More on that later.
^ HAHAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAHAHAHAHAA
"...because your brains will roll out of your head and that's what's gonna happen."
Everybody PLEASE watch the above video! Thanks AL!!!
as a suggestion for future rides, i think we should steer clear of 'the ghetto' (unless it's light out) because we almost got our asses kicked and bikes stolen by a drunk brutha', until antonio whipped out his ghetto talk.
we only ended up riding 16 miles because paulyd stopped for a stray dog which i am currently taking care of. he's an amazingly sweet and young dalmation/pitbull and he's house trained.
Too late for that... that ride a couple nights back through south central was pretty fast and we didn't run into any trouble which was good except that's when my cassette fell apart. Wait a minute. Where are we going on Thursday?
Dayumn. If you only rode 16 miles you didn't even make it into the 'ghetto' but it sounds like a fun incomplete night. What I don't understand is how did you bring that doggie back with you? Did he ride on someone's handlebars?
cubscouts SCOUT the ride for thursday's cubpack. and not that the ride is as fast as wolfpack, but ask yourself if you'd take that bike on a wolfpack ride. if the answer is 'why certainly!' then power on, dude! many new riders have unfortunately been dropped, dropped out, or were surprised with the pace... so heed the warning and we'll see you tonight!
That's right people this ride is completely Criss Krossed with a capital X. It is a lavish dose of adrenaline, mental training, and persistance. :)
Yes, I am smiling it was awesome. Marcus and Keiron excellent job looking out for crazy shoe throwing and matching paint analistic neighbors. Al, if you'r reading this thread get your cubby booty right where it belongs and that is here, with us riding, roaming, and enjoying the streets at its capacity.
Woooot, Woot, hey Richie were going to miss your crissKrossed self this weekend as you delight yourself in the inclineous streets of San Francisco. Ci ci ccIao,
Aaaaw, that's too bad Eric. But, taking a rest is sometimes really the best thing you can do for your body that way you give it the space/time it needs to heal. :)
ahh shit richy-rich, the ride turns back a half mile from my apt... looks like I'm riding up to Santa Monica after work.... if you change the end point to here:
no, by week #3, i mean week #3! we rode down to palos verdes the first time and that was when i first met franzie, kieron, and chris.
it was that really windy night and there was sand all over the bike path. marcoos was sick but left us a 'present' at the end of the first half of the ride. kieron and i both rode off the path because we couldn't differentiate between the sand and the path.
it was a great night.
Ahhh the ride to PV. That was when I saw Kata fly off the path and almost did the flying squirrel thing in Redondo Beach. That was a great ride and you were tired Annie and I gave you a lift. Ahhh... the memories. I think that's the first time I met Franz too. Or not... nope... he rode before. Which was your first cub ride franz?
... i guess not...
but it was damn great ride tonight!
indoor carpet riding, handcuffing, and the shrinking 'circle of death' need to happen more often.
badabababap, skim milk!
Wow, last night's pictures are amazing. Good job Spook. What did you do Annie ? Two splitting shots of you in the handcuffs that must of been some hot stuff to watch ? I missed the CS ride last night I was riding back from the E.S. area. Got home around 930 ish...Where did you ride to last night...Al when are you joining you do know we miss you hey ? I'll see those of you who are going to Porland on Friday and the rest of you smitting Cubbies when we get back. Muuuah ~
that looks like a rad ride. Too bad I'm totally beat from Portland *and* don't have a bike anymore, the drops and fork of my frame are totally bent sideways (I think this means it's basically gonna become the top of a tall bike.. hrm)... BOOO!
Can't make it out tonight, but it looks like a fun route, going right into LAX should be interesting. Try not to get banned for life. I'll see you guys at dinner and Cubcamp on Thursday.
That's right Richie, Endebetetu.
Praise da Lord.
Have you ever seen so many churches on one long strip ?
Or polls that light up as the ground shakes with the vibrations above ? Which was the last hill that made you think if I stop it's over now, and made you push harder instead ? Yes, this is it ladies and gentile-men quarante-septe millas. Dark long paths of mystery materials....
Ok, i must have either just missed you or left before you passed my street tonight. I tried calculating when you guys would be going by so i bought a bunch of donuts to hand out and brought my camera to take some photos. Oh well. I was out there from about 11:25p-12:20a at the corner of Pico & Sepulveda... so when did you guys get back to BRW?
so i will be riding sans helmet tomorrow. wolfpack crak'd my domepiece. hopefully the city with throw down and cough up the 180 clams for the latest and greatest in mind security. the richie goes, "WOOT."
It will be between 50 and 60, this is week 5!
You'll have a lot of riding time to think about how much fun youre having!
Also, we will have special "entertainment" that will dazzle and delight!
Gary has the actual computer data from the ride. Hopefully he'll post that shiznit.
Markus, the route you gave us was 66 milezz. We found a route that cute that down to 56. Last night we just rode to Torrance and turned around. Total mileage was about 48. Both the original route and the alternate route we came up with suck.
Last night's ride report. Some miles are missing in a couple spots, so total was more like 48. Our ghetto last minute route sort of going original intended direction with less miles, but with some unfamiliar sketchy roads.
This week is a week one. There is a chance that last weeks 5er will be combined with our WEEK 4 of this cycle due to wolfpacks century ride that week. We might just have our own century ride on the 8th this month. It would make up for last week for SURE.
I unfortunately need to take some time off the bike for some much needed leg recovery. But if you guys are going to discuss locations and film ideas after the scout at a local eatery like last time, then call me up and I'd love to be in on the discussion. I'll also check tonight and see if my video camera equipment is in working order so we can have another camera for Thursday.
YEAH Cubscouts tonight...I am moving out tonight and can't make it, but I think the Cubscouts are really important for the next few weeks because of the movie. Try to nail down some ideas so we have something to go off of on Thursday. Post on the forums some kind of heads-up if you can. At least good locations to shoot at, and something of a story or idea. That definitely worked better on Week One (with more solidified movie ideas) than Week Two where it was left more open. The clarity also helps the riding part stay more guided as well.
Sadly I will likely miss scouts again this week. I'm putting together a small photo exhibit of some of my work. A friend of a friend who manages a shop in San Diego with monthly art had their artist for November bail, so I offered to fill the space.
I'll toss out a potential film location though, Westwood commercial district near UCLA is well lit at night and semi drunken college students roam the streets at night like zombies, looking for something to occupy their time.
