help me flush this thief out of hiding

Sunday at 10am I came back to bike and it wasn't there – it got stolen. I locked it to a rack on 7th between Figueroa and Flower in Downtown and left for 15 minutes.
I wouldn't be bummed but I've only ridden some 10,000 miles on that bike, places such as cross country to NYC, Scotland, Ireland, France, Switzerland, Italy and New Zealand. That bike is very special to me and I want it back.
Ironically it happened as I was buying a car, after months of relying on my bike.
Description: large, green with yellow lettering says "Daniels", listen here: its a ROAD BIKE with FRONT SHOCK ABSORBERS and its an unmistakeable beast if you see it. Yes thats my bike. It has red and black specialized tires and 48 spoke tandem wheels. I know every scratch on that bike and have tons of pictures of me and it.
If anyone sees this bike, buy it off the person for whatever they ask and I will reimburse plus more to make it worth the inconvenience. Whatever price they ask I'll be willing and able to pay it because thats an irreplaceable bicycle. I hate it when stuff like this happens but I am maintaining a positive hopeful attitude that I will get it back.
Perhaps you can keep an eye out for it?

I will keep an eye out for it.
Man, is it me or is theft in general on like a major rise recently.

That sucks. On the plus side, it's a pretty conspicuous ride, so hopefully you'll get it back soon.
DO file a police report. Not that the cops are going to spend a lot of time looking for it, but they recover a lot of bikes each year that end up going to auction because they were never reported missing.

What kind of lock did you use? How did they steal it?

And I included a picture. note the road style drop handle bars with the front shocks, plus upward sloping top bar of frame. The bike right now has 48 spoke tandem wheels which require a wider back drop.
Much thanks if you're looking. I've driven to literally every bike shop within a 10 mile radius of downtown passing out fliers.

I had a cable lock which is no good in downtown LA where the professionals work. For those of you who are attached to your bicycles:
1) don't get to attached cause its just a bike 2) keep your documentation and serial #s 3) use a hardened steel lock or 10 4) register it for $3 with the police and the thief gets sent to jail when caught
