seattle bike scene

I've got to spend next week in Seattle. I won't be there long enough to justify boxing up a bike and shipping it up there (I shoulda waited for a Traveler's Check instead of my cross check!), but I'm gonna go nuts if I have to go all week without riding.
Is there a bike scene up there, and if so, where do I find it? I figure maybe I'll get lucky with a loaner.

I lived in seattle for 2 years and rode bikes pretty regularly the whole time,
There is indeed a bike scene,
one of which is a scene of people who like to ride bikes/drink/have fun/do protest rides for bike lanes etc.
(not up to ridazz par though),
the other is a "scene" of fashion victims with a hilarious exclusionary streak, think everything nyc bike snob rails on regularly, its pretty amusing.
but yes, go forth and find the first group, or the second if you are really into aerospokes, its not nearly as well developed as it is here, but it does exist, I'll try to get you more information asap

i only got to ride around with a few of them once, but it was definitely a good thing, search for them on THE WORLD WIDE WEB colloquially known as "the internet"

heres a bunch of stuff i got from a bike friend up there
"Cal Anderson on Capitol Hill at the fountain
1pm, 1:30 ride out
Slow Sundays, They've been a blast every time. We cover 20-30 miles over 4-8 hours, hit parks, bike shops, bike workshops, dumpsters, convenience stores, bars and whatever else suits our fancy.
Tuesdays and Thursdays .83 rides. This is my main bike club. They're the drunky awesome bikers that ride hard, ride long, drink in parks and make fun of eachother. I think I'll be on Thursdays ride which meets at Westlake Center at 7pm. This is the recommended ride for people looking to meet other people.
Next week on Friday there is also the Dead Baby ride. The Hells Angels of bike crews in Seattle.
Also next Friday there is Fast Friday, the fixie kid meet up. I'll be attending that too, as I just got a fixed gear bike.
Hope this is what you friend is looking for. Feel free to hit me back with more questions about any of the rides."
