Sex Positive Bike Tour and Flogger Craft Night
Tuesday, April 22, 07:00PM, $2 Donation
Celebrate Earth Day by dumping your car and taking to the streets in this informative sex-positive bike tour of our neighborhood. Eco-sexy and eco-fun! We will meet at 6:30 and leave at 7:00pm. After the tour, we will celebrate at the craft table with our beloved craft captain, JP, by making floggers out of bike tubes. Drinks and snacks will be provided.

P.S. I suppose this is a conversation for another time, but I generally take issue with the term "sex positive". It forces things like pornography / strip clubs / and SEX, which is a huge word encompassing all types of activity, into a false positive/negative dichotomy, when there are numerous complex issues and ideas to be discussed. From a contemporary feminist perspective, I find it to be slightly reductionist and unhelpful.
That being said, I'm a supporter and patron of Babeland, so I hope I didn't just tick anybody off.

Sex + Ride Sounds like fun.
memorable quote:
"You know, there's going to be sex, drugs, rock-n-roll... chips, dips, chains, whips... You know, your basic high school orgy type of thing. I mean, uh, I'm not talking candlewax on the nipples, or witchcraft or anything like that, no, no, no. Just a couple of hundred kids running around in their underwear, acting like complete animals."

What?
@Pam: Hm. Perhaps I made some leaps that I didn't explain well..? (Or maybe I just don't make sense.) The term "Sex Positive" has often been used by a particular school of feminist thought, who usually consider themselves to be (and often use the term) pro-porn. The term "Sex Positive" implies that there is a perspective that is "Sex Negative," i.e., anyone who doesn't agree with the perspective of the "Sex Positive" perspective.
I just think that sex and empowerment are huge concepts that shouldn't be reduced to "good" and "bad."
...did that make any more sense? I suppose the MR forum may not be the place to debate the power of language and naming. ESPECIALLY when I support Babeland in the first place any damn way.

Yes, PAM understood you much better the second time.
Using language to stake a false claim to some moral territory.
So, it is like when certain humans call their political agenda "pro-family," as though people who let their kids read Roald Dahl's books are not members of families.
I love the "What?" trick. It works every time!

The Blue Balls ride seems much more in my league of moral standards.

@PAM: Thank you for distilling it into one sentence. You should have been my law review note advisor.
