According to this Wilshire Center Earth Day event April 22nd has been declared, by The City of Los Angeles, a Car-Free Day.
I heard it is going to be enforced by the LAPD with minimum fines of $500 for driving. Pretty awesome.
'In recognition of the adverse impacts caused by motor vehicles, the City of Los Angeles declares this day a Car-Free Day City Wide'
Read the official declaration from the city(pdf file).
All this talk about Rickrolling has had this song going through my head:
"Do you remember Rick Astley?
He had a big fat hit that was ghastly.
He said I'm never gonna give you up or let you down.
Well I'm here to tell ya that Dick's a clown
Though he was just a boy when he made that vow.
I'd bet it all that he knows by now:
All Men, all Men are liars, their words ain't worth no more than worn out tires.
Hey Girls, bring rusty pliers to pull this tooth, all men are liars and that's the truth."
Nick Lowe - All Men are Liars

It's being advertised on those official (if I keep saying 'official' will people be more inclined to believe me?) street light banners in Koreatown. Shit is for real. Except for the cop part. That's just me being antagonistic.
