Hey, does anyone know where I can get some foam rubber sheeting (you know like egg crate foam, but flat)?
I know of a place online, but it's gonna cost me like 60 bucks for what I need. That's more than I can afford right now. I'm looking for as cheap as possible, if not free. Even a good dumpster is fine.
I need some sheets of a decent size in about 1/2 in thickness.

I know this doesn't sound bike related, but it will be...

 Try fabric stores. Often times they carry foam for upholstery-making.

(if that doesn't work, try to find a upholstery repair/DIY store, if they exsist)

 I have a piece of batting for upholstering furniture that is 4’ x 8’ x 1 1/4” if you want to come all the way to El Segundo. Or I can probably get it to the start of Angelopes.

 the mother of all fabric do it yourself stores is on lincoln just north of the 10 freeway. they would have to have it. it is next to aaron brothers. i bought padding there from a scrap bin for like $1 and used an old pair of argyle pants to make my bar pad. a sheet of velcro and total investment: $3
