I'm still kind of wondering why that route was so fucking strange. Never before had I been to the san gabriel valley and never again do I wish to return. To anyone who lives there, I'm very sorry.
I really liked the route. Seems like we've ridden most of the cool places west of the 110. Time to go out and explore the vast wilderness that is southeast Los Angeles.
I'm all in favor of some southeast routes. I have an inexplicable love for the industrial ugliness of Vernon and Commerce, that whole big maze of warehouses that extends outward from downtown along the railways. Maybe it's nostalgia for my old neighborhood in St. Louis...
I don't know how kind a ride through Vernon would be to people's tires, though. And it might be a scary place to get lost, but not truly dangerous. The total population of Vernon is something like 15 people, I think.
If I remember from that one ridearc, i think they said it was 96, and yeah, SnS rides through there often, ride-arc kinda started there for a long time before they started jumping all over the city. It's a cool place to ride, but definitely not for new riders, there's so much shit in the road, it always leads to crashes.
Definitely a good area for photo-shoot rides though.
