In Chicago Bike thieves love it when people lock up to a certain pole where the bolts can be removed from the base they call it a "sucker pole". We've got a similar thing in LA with those loading zone signs that are attached only with a few allen bolts an can be removed with a simple bike tool.

Wow, that second thief was a bike messenger himself. So much for a community of riders.

H'mm, some people seem to be extremely desperate for crack money, they're willing to jump out of buildings after a bike theft.
Won't work if the thief simply throws it into a truck, but I've envisioned a device that makes the seat fall off if you don't install the deadman-switch to deactivate the fall-off feature.

Here's a short film done a few years ago that covers some of the same ground from a slightly humorous perspective:

When was this video actually done?
Seems like the report was made a couple, of years back.
For all we know, this video predates CRANK Mob, and that guy fled Chicago and has blended into our masses, unintentionally introducing shin-pads into the equation!!!!!!
Too much iced tea and tacos for one day.
