a fixie.
im 5' 10' lookin for my first fixie.
i think i need a 55 56.
im not looking to spend too much money on a new on cuz its my first one. is anyone selling one or know of anyone selling one.

"SE" makes an entry level fixed gear bike. i saw a few at L.A. Brakeless recently.

ya, thats what ive seen.
ive been lookin everywhere and thats about the cheapest i can find.

A year ago you could've probably found a fixed-gear bike on craigslist for $150 to $200. Now, with gas at nearly $5.00 a gallon, the cheapest are about $275 to $300.
The prices are increasing due to demand. So your best bet is to bite the bullet now and get one now before the next price increase.

I've got a really nice Surly Steamroller that I'll let go for $400, which is half of the after-tax retail. I paid $500 for it a couple hundred miles ago. See profile for details. My knee doesn't like it. I'm 5'10" too and it fits me like a glove - but it is 53cm, not 56cm. That's be pretty large for someone who is 5'10"

i think one of the reasons your knees are protesting is your frame may be too small for you.... i understand a person's height isn't the only indicator of one's frame size... but i'm 5'-8" and i ride a 56.
