It’s time to cull my pile of bikes; I have way more than I need or will ever utilize. Best it goes to someone else that will get some use out of it.
I have 4 piles of stuff:
Pile 1: Free Bikes!
Yes, totally free. These bikes are low end, rusty, missing most everything, bare frames etc. Great for cutting up to build tall bikes, choppers, etc. I have a lot of these, they need to go, if they don’t the scrap metal guy will get them for sure. Free. You need this stuff, it took years to get all this crap and now it’s time to send it down the road.
Pile 2: $1.00 bikes!
Yes, bikes for one whole dollar! There are complete low end, or older higher end stuff missing things, or they have a few things missing. Good for people needing parts bikes or take a few to build up a good running bicycle. Some good frames in this pile. This pile is also large and an excellent value.
Pile 3: the good stuff
I have a pile of good stuff, event bikes, high end, old schwinns, other mild collector goodies that I plan to keep unless you make me a reasonable offer. I will not break down each and every item in this pile. All the really choice stuff is at the shop or in my personal hoard, so you’re not going to get a 26” Cooks Bros bmx for 5 bucks. Don’t waste my time. Thanks.
Pile 4: used tires.
Hundreds of good used tires. 1 dollar each.
How we do this:
You call and make an appointment during daylight hours. Generally mornings between 6-10 am Tues-Sat work best for me. Will not do this on a Monday, it’s my only day off. Can do some evenings as well, Sunday 5-8 tend to work out well.
I will not tolerate hipster bullshit. Make and keep your appointment! Do not waste my time. I could have all this stuff gone in an hour to the scrapper, but I’d hate to see it go to waste, I don’t like waste, and I especially don’t’ like my time wasted. Keep this in mind. This is a great opportunity to get your bicycle collective, club, freak bike build-off well stocked for next to nothing, utilize it.

All,
I am very interested in teh study of "hipsters".
Do they tend more than other bike riding types to be flakey and miss appointments? If so is this indicative of drug use or a general laxidazical attitude. Is this also true of the "Williamsberg" variety of "hipster" or is this only to be attributed to the west coast varity of hipsters.
I appreciate a timely response as I am working on a research paper entitled "Bicycle Hipsters: Their Behavior Patterns and Environs"
