I know, I'm supposed to be banned from posting anymore but
FUCK IT.
I came across this on the web.
Too bad they rent coming to L.A. for this.
How could we convince them?

I just emailed them.
It could be East Side Vs. West Side!

"The Urban Assault Rideâ„¢ is a funky bike scavenger hunt that involves street-smart riding, obstacle courses, and a huge after party. Mental muscle is just as important as bike skills as teams of 2 choose their own course to checkpoints around the city.
The event is well known for its checkpoints where zany obstacle courses must be completed before moving on. We're talking modified Big Wheels, Bike Jousting, The Keg Walk, Inflatable Slides...and much more. The first team to hit all of the checkpoints and cross the finish line wins! Then the party begins with New Belgium beer and lots more two-wheeled shenanigans!
It's a Pedal-Powered Urban Adventure!"
Ok, I'll just dream about it happening here...

Looks like a white thang. Seems like they pick the cute hipster cities and avoid the urban jungles. Marketing must told them it makes better pictures. White people drinking looks like fun, black and brown people drinking looks like urban decay.
Instead of asking them to come to LA try for Pasadena, Long Beach, Satan Monica, San Diego.

It's the same people who put together
Tour de Fat
C.I.C.L.E. tried to bring them over in the past.
I get a headache the next day after I drink their beer.

okay. fuck it.
We'll make our own version of this.
Dan B had the wish to do already so and we failed to help him make it happen .
And the beer will be cheaper.

At the TourDeFat in pdx last year I asked them if they would consider coming to LA. A young women said they didn't think LA was bike friendly enough for their kind of event. I in turn acted in a completely rational sober manner and called that person an ass, and asked the point of preaching to the choir.
How about a letter writing campaign, it was fun after all.

We already have Choppercabras and if Dan want to put another one, let's make it happen.

Yeah, I didn't really see the cities as being young and white as much as I saw them as being traditionally bike friendly cities.

Anyway, we should be proud that we already have all of that going on.
We made it happen. We don't need a brewing company to facilitate...

And if both groups had guns along with that alcohol, both usually end up doing more damage than the Spanish Armada and the 7th Fleet combined.

Damn me being white and so photogenic!!
For real though, this sounds like fun with check points and such. Anyone even do a ride like this?

I agree with marino. There could be fun group participation things or people could stand around and watch the same few people play bike polo for hours on end....
it would be rad if the block party had some wacky events as opposed to simply a trackstand and skid competition (Which I do enjoy by the way) and then polo.
I know you guys are wacky.

If you want corporate sponsorship on your fun rides, somebody should see if 7-11 wants to sponsor crankmob.
Or maybe, just maybe, not everything fun needs to have somebody's brand on it.

But...if there's no brand on it, how will I know that it's cool?
