Need a new bike. Not sure if this bike is worth the price.

Those wheels are really dangerous and have been known to fail with almost no warning.
Especially given the age, I would stay away. Old carbon is scary.
Plus, it's a triathalon bike.

it has some iffy reviews. price is ok, not great. if it was full on ultegra that would be nice but we don't know the level of the rest of the components. my vote is go see it and ride it and if you love it offer him less. look for cracks in the head tube, etc.

Too much for the first bike, I sold a similar set-up with a Campy Record 9 speed, same wheels for $500. Nothing wrong with the carbon Spinergy wheels, they are tough enough for cyclocross. Like anything carbon you need to check them regularly.
As for the KHS, you might be able to get a better bike for close to the same amount. Try calling Cannondale dealerships like Incycle in Pasadena and ask about any deals on 2008 or 2007 Cannondale CAAD9; the 2009 will be available soon. The CAAD9 is a great frame.

Is it possible to get a CAAD9 bike for 700 dollars? It seems like they are in the 1k range

It is possible and I have been looking for a 58cm for you but we are in the middle of the racing season so no one is selling at this point Most sell in February when next year's team bike arrives. I have asked several members of my club who ride 58 cm bikes if they have any bikes to sell, some haven't responded yet.
There are deals to be made, just gotta be patient. Funny thing is when you need a bike, you can't find a deal. Once you got one, they come out of the woodwork.

sc_nomad:
I checked out helens cycles and they told me i should get a 60cm cannondale.
I called Incycle and they didn't have anything in my price range with the CAAD 8 or 9.
Thanks for helping me out!
