No, there are still lotus in the lake. There are only about 12 leaves left at this point. There is a grassroots movement to try to restore the lotus population in the lake. It will probably (well, hopefully) happen when the city begins the $60 million renovation they have planned in 2010.

Pretty much gone at this point; the few leaves that have popped up have withered and died. Sad, but I hope to see them return one day.
