when is the 100th ride going to be i want to get a group of people from portland to come down for it but i need dates and what not.
reply
Last thread i read they were trying to figure it out and people came up with all sorts of dates.
Then someone started bringing up rides that hadn't been included in the ride count. So they weren't even sure if the next ride was 94 or 95 or maybe even 99
not sure what the outcome was but the thread is around here somewheres.

I just did some quick math - for what it's worth, if we count only the Second Friday of the Month Ride as being "Midnight Ridazz" we will reach the 100th ride in April of 2012.

LOL
SO let's just pick a date and pretend its the 100th. Cruz with us is supposedly disappearing, so what's going to count as the included dates? Lets ask Roadblock to tell us when it will be.
Who wanted to organize it? Figure it out.

Hey, isn't someone predicting the end of the world in 2012?

We've been there already. It's rad. Wanna go back?

Yes, the Mayans.
Or at least their calendar cycle stops at that point.
They could have done like we generally do, and go ahead and get a new calendar, but their civilization collapsed long before their calendar ended.
But hey, if you need a good reason to party on 12-21-2012, the potential END OF THE WORLD is as good as any.

The last Cruz with Us ride is supposed to be in July. So if Hollywood Ridazz doesn't take any more numbers, then September 12th will be #100 according to the arbitrary numbering scheme that's been set up. Sept 12 is there for the taking.
Here is the
original forum post about the 100th ride. I am very much a fan of making #100 an all-day, multi-loop century party ride, as discussed near the end of that thread. steveo4's description is probably the clearest explanation of that idea. I'd be psyched to be part of planning that, but I don't think I have the time and resources to plan something that massive all on my own.

END OF THE WORLD RIDE
omg, this is my favourite movie genre
it's post-apocalyptic dystopian armageddon madness! no mel gibson required!
I just hope SOMEONE shows up dressed as Tank Girl. just sayin.

Were you at the post-apocalyptic ride a couple of months ago? I'm not sure if tank girl was there, or not. Borfo had a somewhat tank girl like costume....

(but we all know, Ridazz will prevail)
True, we have done post-apocalypse themed events this year, but not everyone has gotten in on the action... This is the actual apoalypse!
2012 themed?
We seem to all really like the END-OF-THE- WORLD theme, no?
We could cause so much trouble, I like it. The Horror!
Make it Happen.

I see that I'm going to have to assume the role of resident naysayer on this one, at least until I sustain a traumatic brain injury.
If the 100th MR ride happens before April 2012, I'll be wearing something featuring the number "100" with the international NO sign over it.
mr rollers06.26.08 - 12:16 pm
reply
yeah that's pretty soon...
We can prolong it if we hold back a number on a hollywood ride or something... Then It could be later in September or in October!
We Ridazz have the ability to travel in time to any era or event. We can visit the apocalypse now!
I still say that Rollers needs to make those Nay 100 shirts.

i think october is a good month for 100... just my opinion.
portland on the other hand is the most amazing thing ever. i did fall down on the zoobomb steeple chase in a bunch of gravel and had to clean it out of my knee later that night. but i have zoobombed successfully twice now and its the shit. the rides are amazing and the people are really nice im going on the north freak bike ride tomorrow which from what i have heard is suposed to be insane

Hmm...
Xibalba, the Maya underworld was "home to at least six deadly houses filled with trials for visitors. The first was Dark House, a house that was completely dark inside. The second was Rattling House or Cold House, full of bone-chilling cold and rattling hail. The third was Jaguar House, filled with hungry jaguars. The fourth was Bat House, filled with dangerous shrieking bats, and the fifth was Razor House, filled with blades and razors that moved about of their own accord. In another part of the Popol Vuh, a sixth test, Hot House, filled with fires and heat, is identified."
Perhaps I'm hallucinating, but I see a theme emerging here, which connects nicely with the multi-loop party century. Each loop can become one of the six trials of Xibalba.

And hey, if it's in October, it'll be Halloween-y enough to fit into the season. Dress as your favorite underworld personality. Or something...
I'm liking this idea more and more.

Forte, wait till we lock down the date. We don't know if its been taken yet.
I love ZooBomB! I'd love to see Rev. Phil, Warchild, The Sprokettes, and the rest of em down here for a ride and a weekend of events!
We should get the San Diegans involved too.
OK, I'm getting inspired to help on this.

Dungeons and Dragons ride occupying the October slot.
Suggestions? I'm really thinking this Maya end o' th' World Xibalba party century mashup is just too cool
not to do.

You are right Nathan.
I wasnt looking at the calander right...
That is The Reverend Dak's Ride. He's out of town currently, but when he comes back next week, we should talk to him about this. Last I spoke with him, he wasn't sure if he was going to do this. If he is, awesome - Let's help him. I just have this feeling he might have something different in mind, and perhaps he may like this idea.
So we will see shortly. I think he comes back next week.
