Disaster averted

I came within inches of being hit by a car that ran a red light on my short ride to work. I was very late today so rode instead of my usual walk. Thankfully I was slow taking off when my light turned green and thankfully I don't trust cars so was still looking both ways when I noticed she was going too fast and wasn't going to stop. She skidded into the middle of the intersection and I stopped with my front wheel almost against her rear passenger door. Talk about an adrenaline rush.

Fucking amazing. The only thing better would be if she turned your front wheel a 45 degrees. It's like a movie. Be safe.

Did you have to use your rim brakes or were your legs enough? I'll assume you were on your fixed-gear.

On my fixed, I'm horrible at stopping without brakes so definitely was all over the brakes.

Count to three after every light turns green. That'll prolong your life in this crazy town.

Cycling can be very dangerous. You can die really easily.
Pay attention and be safe.
