Be that those who do go to be sure to find time to start a dialogue with him about what he plans to do about bicycle infrastructure in LA.
According to some he may be supportive in certain areas of cyclists rights, but it doesn't mean we can't persuade him to change.
I won't be able to attend this, due to other commitments.

I'll probably head over there in a bit, chill. Read a book. Drink a beer, etc. Until the ride shows up.

I'm glad dingo posted this. I had no idea that La Bonge has a ride going on. I bet people would be into it if he publicized his rides more. I'm starting to think this guy might actually be real?? well.... if he can produce some results that is.... maybe I've been too cycnical about politicians? well.... we'll see.

He and Rosendahl are like the only people on la city council that have even heard of a bicycle so I suppose we should just keep trying to alienate them. especially if it's over an issue as important as the holiday lights festival.

LaBonge and Rosendahl aren't the only ones. Props should go to Councilman Ed Reyes as well as Council President Garcetti who've both voiced their support for a stronger city position on bicycling.

people know that cyclists are here those that dont will become irrelevant.... it's not about alienating them it's about putting a little fear into their hearts as in don't ignore a constituency this big, it might bite you in the ass at the voting booth.

Part 3 of Tour Labonge is today, 6:15PM @ City Hall, Downtown LA.
I'll be there, hiding in the corner, drinking beer, smoking dope, and tipping the strippers.

How much are we getting paid for being props in his photo op? 'Cause I don't get out of bed for less than triple scale.

OH AWESOME! I forgot this is the last one right? Will there be more free ice cream? Will that lady that rides with live birds on her shoulder be there? OH MAN. I'm excited.

A scoop or two of Ice Cream has been the rate so far.
I'm not familiar with the beef against LaBonge, and neither is he _my_ city councilman, so I don't know what to say or ask the guy. Since these rides are sanctioned by the City (we have to sign waivers), they may be photo-ops or community outreach, whatever, these rides can be your opportunity to chat, debate or argue (whatever) with him about riding bikes in the city. Or, if you are so inclined, ask about riding bikes through the Festival of Lights.
Today, they're touring Downtown - in rush hour. It should be interesting.

no, this isn't the last one.
LOOK at the flier. two more after this one.
And yes PC, your check for being in a photo-op with LaBonge will be mailed to you, just as soon as you bother to show up for one of the rides.

Yeah, full Police escort and ice cream have been the norm so far and ice cream is promised again for tonight. I'll be curious to see how the traffic conditions are handled. For the most part, LaBonge doesn't want to subject himself (or those on his rides) to the same types of dangers that we deal with on a regular basis.
Having weighed the pros & cons of attending Tour de LaBonge, I've done the last two and I plan on being there again tonight. Obviously, the more Ridazz show up, the more fun it will be.
