So i was rolling down western yestrday, pretty minimal traffic. Riding in the would-be sharrow lane and some driver gets behind me and lays on the horn. Then passes me on the left. I look at the back of the car and see a "Student Driver" sticker on the back.

I catch up to them at the light and tap in the drivers window. The poor student driver is pretty aghast, because clearly the "instructor" told here to honk at me.

I tried to tell her that when a slow moving vechicle is in the road you don't bully them, you go around. The instructor leans over and starts barking "you have to share the road!"

I tried to explain to the guy how its not safe to ride in the gutter or weave in and out of parked cars ... but he wasn't hearn' me.

The light turned green and they resumed their lesson.
....
Holy shit.
Sombody needs to tell these people that bikes belong in the road.
Maybe we can make a poster for the DMV.

that was an after thought
nothing was printed on the car
i guess i could have acted super nice and apologized and asked for his card so I could lean how to drive.

Yeah, that dud shouldn't be teaching people how to drive, no wonder we have people who don't know how to deal with bicycles on the road... damn.

That's kinda like this car I saw double parked in the bike lane on santa monica the other day, I roll by and it's the fuggin parking enforcement vehicle, I was totally looking for the cop to give them some shit (That's the kind of stuff they're supposed to be ticketing after all), but they weren't even around, was ridiculous.

oh yeah, and I thought the whole point of share the road was that cars need to share the road...

Maybe we should just all memorize the CVC about how bikes belong in the street and quote the part about taking as much of the lane as we need safely and such to idiot drivers....
