On the Westside. It's called BikeImprove. It's on Santa Monica Bl, just west of Westwood Bl.
It's not very good, but I just thought I'd mention it.

Yeah....@hatehills, what's so bad about it?
I tried out the shop a couple weeks ago because I've noticed repair service times getting longer and longer at the bigger West side shops I usually go to. I needed my rear-shock on my mountain bike unstuck and rebuilt. Very fast and competent service. Probably will go back if it's something I can't deal with myself? And it's the closest one to me.

Zero,
where you at? JC is right near the Mormon Temple and i'm at Olympic/Sepulveda. Coe Coe is also right near Yoshinowa.

Do you like the shop, Stevo? I went in when it first opened and it seemed pretty sparse with just a few high-end mountain bikes. The guy's shop prices also seemed kinda high.
I bought a blinkie from him, largely to be supportive... so you can take me out of the hater column :P

But you still don't like the Dead right? So....
I haven't been in there yet. Your post was the first i heard of it. I'll def check it out. I like having shops close to home for emergencies or last minute supply needs. (not really in market for another bike yet).

Not liking the Dead doesn't mean I'm a hater, it means I have taste.

bikeimprove has been there for a couple months and yes over priced and a little assholish.. its right next to my friends house and i didnt like it to much however i do go there when im in the area to get things like tires.. but they are still more over priced then other places such as performance or bikeattack.
if you wanna get technical.. everything in LA county is over priced compared to Richards Cyclery in Garden Grove..

...@ stevo4
I'm at Sawtelle / National. You the guy who did the chicken ride? Not sure if I know coco or JC. Is JC, short for Jean Claude? I know him from kickball. I'll be at Crankmob, probably.

JC is short for JUST COCK!
I just went to the store....high priced lights, tires, and 1/2 the bikes were mountain bikes. I asked about 200 lumen head lights and he brings me his used very heavy night rider light with huge battery pack asking $350. doesn't carry gator skin tires and had never heard of VIEW POINT lights....JC's right about this shop....it's crap.....and the Dead still sucks.
I said i saw the store posted on a website and the owner didn't even care to ask what site. seems they have money to burn.

The Dead seriously do suck though. i remember when Jerry died, I thought to myself "Ha, that's ironic!" I liked them the first time I heard them, but then I came down.

i work there! plug plug plug... it is pretty pricey, we carry mostly high-end carbon/titanium bikes with all those silly frilly awesome things bikes can have if you want to pay that much for it. but we are trying to get rid of some cruisers and regular road bikes so drop by and take a look.
but if you ever do need bike advice, the guy running the shop knows his shit encyclopedically.
