Alright, the route from the German Consulate to the Alpine Village for Wednesday's ride has been scouted. Was going to go on Wilshire for like, 3.5 miles but good god that street is all chopped up!
Going to use Olympic (instead) to Western.
Here is the route:
From the Consulate:
-Head out East on Wilshire (towards Fairfax)
-Right on Ogden
-Left on Genesee
-Left on Olympic
-Right on Western (there is a HUGE pothole between 95th and 96th on the right lane)
-Left on 120th
-Right on Normandie (careful of traffic at 405)
-Left on Torrance
Alpine Village is on the left hand side
Kitchen closes around 8:30-9 p.m. so we leave promptly at 7 p.m.
Please make sure to bring a front and rear light along with a patch kit, spare inner tubes, road pump. Helmets and bells/horns are a must. Don't blow red lights, we stick together! If there is a rider down, don't leave him/her behind.
The blue line is only 4 miles away and the route is not bad:
-Head out on Torrance Blvd headed towards the freeway
-Left on Main
-Right on Del Amo (nice and wide, bike lane available half way through....but cars RACE down this way, be careful!)
-Small incline before Santa Fe, people on fixies may cry
-Left on Santa Fe
-Blue line on the right hand side
