If you don’t know what a “lurker” is, it’s a person who spends time on forums reading what others say, but they never say anything themselves.
Why do lurkers exist? The answer is simple: forum culture is intimidating.
If you’re the new kid in town, your first day at school is terrifying. You don’t speak the same slang as the other kids, they all have inside jokes, and they can be downright cruel to outsiders. Every different forum has it’s own language, it’s own rules, it’s own law.
Why, after all, do lurkers lurk? Is it because they enjoy watching from behind the safety of the warm glow of their computer screens? No, they are lurking because they want to learn the culture before they dip their feet in the water. They want to be welcomed into the fold, and in my experience, once they’ve gotten their feet wet, they’re ready for a swim.

lurkers on this site lurk because they dont want to respond to many of these retarded postings.
if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all, and with a lot of the fucking people on here, i dont really have much nice things to say, mainly due to all the hypocrisy (you're double standard ideals on graffiti, traffic laws, and theivery etc.).

Unlike myself, some people just dont need to hear or read their posts (i need this). They have their ideas, thoughts and the like... and maybe they care more to read what others think and are saying... i mean they already know what they think.
I'm more surprised that you mix the notion of "culture" with an online forum. Can you explain that point a bit more... I'm very interested, and would love to lurk through your storeroom of definitions.

i post carelessly because when it comes down it, it's a forum. an internet forum where people spout off all sorts of shit.
look through all the threads.
srsly, about 1/128th of all threads are useful.
im done with trying to have leave my input on this shit.
i used to fucking post here all the time but once i realized that this is all bullshit catty banter, i said fuck it, im not going to respond to these asinine hypocrite fucks.
i come onto this site to find out if there are any rides im interested in (which works well in keeping me informed), and sometimes i look up certain threads that i need (if i had a question about repairing something, etc)
but as far as the rest,
fuck all of it.
all these idiots who take bike advocacy to whole new level (threatening pedestrians, motorists, people who disagree with ur ideals, etc).
and hearing about people getting stabbed by fellow "ridazz" at crank mob.
