Have you seen the bike lanes in the Santa Clarita Valley? I had to go up there last night and I was shocked to see some bike lanes as wide was 5 feet with no parking allowed. At busy innersections they also had those cute little escape lanes between the right turn and the straight traffic.
I was just shocked, 5ft wide bike lanes, no parking allowed.
to bad it fucking hot up there

what are you talking about?
besides the paseos there arnt bike lanes except the paseos that go on the sidewalks. not to mention theres always tons of people walking or fucking around on the paseos so its always a ton of paperboy like avoidng obstacles. if you think the right lane on the parkways are bikelanes you are sadly mistaken, as they are definitely not. not to mention most of the streets are parkways filled with hummers and suvs that dont know how to drive around bikes.
ive known way too many people hit i;n SCV, its a scary place to bike and ive lived there going on 3 years now. [ yay MR calarts club. ]
ps. the paseos are a system of bike paths built in SCV, but they're hidden from the street and only go to certain areas.. and they're kind of sketchy sometimes since theres some hills and like i said people use them for other things than biking. its faster to go on the street, but WAY MORE DANGEROUS. drivers in scv are crazy. ive gotten more shit thrown/yelled at me in scv than ever in the westside and valley put together.
