Freewaves Arts Festival: Dancers & Performers Neede

Hey folks! I WANT YOU!
Dancers, Cyclists, & Performers!
the WHAT, WHEN & WHY:
I've been asked to choreograph a bike and dance performance for the bienniel Freewaves
Freewaves) visual & media arts festival in October. The performance will be the second or third Saturday at 9pm.
the WHERE:
This is a sight specific performance which will take place out on the streets off Hollywood Boulevard.
what TO EXPECT:
Be prepared for the possibility of getting dirty, or very dirty.
Be prepared for the possibility of very physical movement if you're a dancer (or are interested in performing the more physical movements).
Be prepared to either bicycle and/or dance/move on concrete or walls.
Be prepared for strange, uncomfortable, or minimal costuming.
Be prepared to dedicate time for rehearsals.

send me your email with your availability (no wednesdays), and i will begin an email list and rehearsal schedule as soon as i get everyone's schedule.

i can't believe you have even heard of that word.
reading and understanding labanotation is like reading and understanding hierogliphics. it's complicated and confusing and i have training. ugh! ancient arts.
anyone have a job for a labanotationist?
seriously, DANCERS & PERFORMERS! get on this! it will be fun!

Your memory is starting to fail you in your old age. We spoke about labanotation at the very first Den Dinner i ever went to at Richies. That was 2 days after we met for the very first time in the parking lot of Tangs for WP. (violin music starts)

come ON, folks! i know you freaks are out there and i see you dancing and may have danced with you at crank mob or other random rides.
i'm just looking for fearless folks; you don't have to be trained dancers. if b-rad and marcoose were here, they'd be down! and you should be too!!!
get your freak and ride on and have people watch! uh, wait... that's what we normally do. see!! easy peasy! get in on the F.U. motherfuckin' N.!!!

Maybe if you create a spoke card to give out to the participants they will step up. Either that or offer a beer or Brown Bread ice cream from Scoops.

Nicki, you sure this event won't be too early in the evening for you? Maybe they could do a 2nd performance around 2am? ;-)

Well, there will be 2 shows now so Coe Coe can perform. And there will be electrical outlets nearby for PAM to "eat".

Saved from the bottom of the page again! I wonder why this is getting so little interest? I can think of soo many people in our community who are soo much fun and outgoing that i'm sure they'd be great for this event. I bet even any of the Crank Mob regulars would be perfect for it.

i've actually been getting some responses. thanks for you bump assistance.
even if you don't participate, be a spectator and support your local artists. i think fuzzbeast and trickmilla will also be involved in Freewaves. so there will be something for all, and nothing for no one.
also, a big thanks to ingipet for getting me involved in this project.
also, i'm going to call out a couple folks who always say they're interested in doing some sort of dance thing, but when it comes down to it, i only hear crickets:

The people at Freewaves want a bunch of cyclists to crash the event on Oct 11th, and I'm sort of commissioned to do a streaming helmet cam video project. Not sure if this is related to the choregraphed dance thing.
This live footage would be projected on a big wall somewhere in Hollywood. Also, GPS tracker would divulge our position to those watching the footage.
If I can secure a bunch of Nokia N80s, we could also take snapshots as we ride (and upload them to a flickr photostream) which would help "paint" the map with imagery as we approach the end point.
